Your not required to buy the Neo. Choose what you want to buy & what you want, decide & do it. I really don't get all the bitterness around these rumors. The Neo is perfectly understandable to me whether I purchase it or not.
I've about fully given up on brick and mortar stores now.
I buy blu ray movies & as far as that goes I buy online.
I will buy a game occasionally at a store if I happen to be going that way anyway. IDK about everywhere else but at my local stores, blu ray movie sections are slowly shrinking. I usually buy games on amazon, release day delivery is nice along with the prime benefits.
I wish there was a store nearby totally focused on media.
My thoughts are that it will still be a PS4 with slightly upgraded hardware. I think it will also upscale to 4k.
Games will run on either machine, orig PS4 or PS4.5 it's just if you have the .5 you'll see some boost in performance. That is depending on how game developers handle it of course. You could see a better frame rate on the .5 or something similar.

It's definitely not the PS3 instant game collection days of old anymore. I don't play online much at all anymore & never play multiplayer, only coop on occasion. I have been questioning whether or not I will renew it this year.
