in respect to the ps4, i worry about the proposal that ps3 games will be backwards compatible on just about every device you can think of. i cant even begin to imagine how that type of thing would be possible. definitely needs more clarification.
in respect to the xbone's promises, i wonder exactly how this cloud service they speak of is going to improve the graphical capabilities of the xbone games. i also question whether or not the used game policy will pan out the way w...
naughty dog has been one of, if not THE BIGGEST surprises this gen. Just about everything theyve managed to release is AAA material. the idea that the good times'll stay rolling next gen? ohhhhhhhh yeah!!!
definitely agree. the buttons on the new controller look great, but the top part of the controller looks a lot like a weird add on that shouldnt be there to begin with. if anything, they should have made the glossy top part sit flush witht the rest of the controller. it looks as if its a little pushed back from where it meets the matte finish.
also not too crazy about the pointed bottom edges, but im sure that was more a decision ms made because it was somehow superior to the old, so...
exactly. the fact that sony showed games before console keeps people EXCITED to finally see the build.
the fact that microsoft showed the console before games leaves people WORRIED about the lack of software they had to show. the difference in strategy leaves gamers on opposite ends.
what i hated about mcrosofts reveal was just about everything aside from the controller, which i thought looked a little worse than the 360 controller, but still looks pretty sweet, nonetheless. the consoles looks i liked quite a bit too, aside from its size. yeah, its really big, but i think it has a great look for entertainment centers. few things i especially disliked was the lack of detail on power and how this supposed usage of cloud will just magically make games better than the console...
the idea of an always-on, always listening and watching camera is actually an extremely disturbing concept which goes far beyond anything to do with gaming.
verizon, for example, has patented technology within tvs that allow your tv cameras to monitor what it is youre doing in your livingroom, which allows them to run certain advertisements on your TV based on whatever it sees. cuddling with a loved one while watching a movie may lead to commercials about birth control. yelling at so...
Though the article raises a solid point, the xbox name is always going to be synonymous with gaming consoles whether MS likes it or not. at the end of the day it doesnt really matter how far away your console strays from its primary duty-- people are always going to pit your software efforts against the competitions. so long as MS attempts to make next gen software, the console war will rage on.
Would love to see it try.

i feel like what youre saying here is exactly what people need to realize. not a lot about the xbox ones media features would be difficult for sony to just bring to their console too. i think the only reason sony didnt focus too heavily on its media functions is because they knew thats not what most gamers really wanted to see.
exactly how i feel. my post came off a little harsh but yeah, i just feel like the green doesnt jive with a lot of game covers or entertainment centers.
i mean no fanboyism when i say that ps3 game cases have always been so superior to 360 in every way.
its just kind of funny to see that apparently, MS has managed to make an even worse looking case. LET GO OF THE GREEN ALREADY.
cant see the future. what i can do is base reasoning off facts though. sonys electronics sector has been dragging the name down for years. the movie and playstation sections of the company however, are what keep it afloat. sony pictures, music and playstation have all fallen on hard times at some point, but a lot of it has already bounced back. not just me talking here either. if you doubt it, feel free to look it up.
the only thing really dragging down sony (ironically enough) is th...
LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
"On top of all of those features, Xbox is getting into making original content, like Hulu and Netflix have, starting with a Steven Spielberg-directed live action Halo TV series. It's unclear where else Xbox One will go with original content or how successful it will be, but that's an entirely new direction for a gaming console to go"
"getting into making original content"? so because of ONE (probably pretty crappy...
LOL
you know i dont usually support these flame bait articles, but i just have to check this one out.
if they split off the 2, the entertainment sector would thrive.
the only thing im truly scared of is the american market. though were not nearly as bad as japan in terms of brand loyalty, i feel like a lot of americans would buy x1 just because the 360 has spent the last 5 years being everyones favorite call of duty machine. being the biggest and most consumer heavy market out there, we americans need to evaluate which console would fit our needs best before making a purchase. you shouldnt buy an xbox just because "you want xbox"
i think E3 will allow ms to take a few steps back, reassess the situation, and come out swinging harder than they originally thought they would have had to. though the reveal was a disaster among epic proportions, i think MS will play a lot more on the safer side and focus on games and appealing to the hardcore crowd. with the right amount of focus, MS could possibly at least maintain the american market fresh off E3.
the one thing they cannot run away from is the used game ...
the fact that you say something like "4>1" sounds "emo and gayish" shows that youre probably not too mature. emo? who has even said the word emo since 2007?
and nobody totally thinks the ps4 is going to rape the 360 based on the reveal. OBVIOUSLY xbox one and ps4 both have games to showcase over e3. it doesnt change the fact that they took their most important unavailing to date and used up their time to talk about extremely dated and nonsensical voice command...
what a stupid point to make. Im pretty sure the reason why most gamers only play current gen games is because previous generations games look like garbage on HDTV's.
its a completely different story with the ps4/ps3 because the games would be running at the same resolutions with almost exactly the same game features like online gameplay and voice chat.
just look at how well HD remakes do when ported to new consoles. do only 5% of players buy those games too? NO....
UGHHHHHHH VGCHARTZ?!
theres a reason i havent been on the site since like 9th grade. it and its sales GUESSES are usually little more than optimistic trash.
would love to hear some solid numbers from the companies themselves.
