How was Halo 2 a joke? For it's time it had groundbreaking multiplayer for a console, excellent graphics and the superb Halo gameplay.

I personally consider Bungie games some of the best around, not just Halo, Oni was excellent, Marathon is a quality game for its time also.
Part of the appeal is how close to their fanbase they are, they're hard not to like. They also have a great sense of humor, just look at some of the quirky easter eggs hidden away in Halo 3.
I agree Panda, the faction thing really got on my nerves, but not as much as the fast respawning enemies.

I'm going to buck the trend and disagree, it's true that the previous GT games have all been of a very high standard, but I expect some form of evolution in games. By following your way of thinking we don't want or need voice chat for multiplayer, no form of visual customisation.
Damage is a good feature in racing games, playing GT5 prologue on line is a pain, as the bumping penalty system is hardly foolproof, giving players a lasting penalty (damage) for shunting other players ...
