I don't see the problem with games coming out on the 360 and PC, as opposed to just the 360. MS, as a PC software company, has a responsibility to provide for the PC market, this isn't a bad thing and it's only fair on the PC owners, who pay to upgrade their OS every few years. Sony doesn't have this same responsibility to provide for another platform, except PSP, which usually just gets licensed games developed by weaker development studios.
Da Truth, there may not be PS3 fanboys in 360 threads first, but the resulting flood more than makes up for it.
Vhero, this is about PS3 trophy hacks, not 360 gamerscore boosters, why are you so insecure?
I doubt it looks "as" good on the 360 as it would on a high end PC, much like any other console game, but I'm sure it will look good enough.
Of course, it's not as though almost about 500,000 people still play Halo 3 on a daily basis, is it?
Right, not sure if I will stick with the game that long to 100% it, but it's reassuring to know the main storyline is fun, cheers.
I look forward to playing this, won a copy in a Gamespot competition and should be arriving any day now, makes a nice change as I don't usually go for hack and slash style games.
The difference between the average Halo AI and L4D/Heavenly Sword/Lair is that the Halo AI is far more complex, L4D just has zombies running mindlessly at you, Heavenly Sword is more or less the same just a swathe of people running at you. The AI in Halo is more intelligent, they act on multiple vertical layers, attempt to flank and use cover.
I wouldn't expect Halo Reach to look graphically as good, for a start the AI is far more complex in an FPS than a hack and slash game, besides, GoW3 looks good, don't get me wrong, but not as good as the comments would have you believe.
@ Ih Swe, that's 40 AI controlled characters, not player controlled.
In the process of editing my comment I accidentally messed up the phrase about the exclusives, it was meant to read:
"Let's pretend Halo Reach, Fable III, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2 and no doubt more AREN'T on the way for the 360 this year"
My bad.
Starcraft II has not yet been released.
Ah, disagree says otherwise, can you please link me to a site where I can buy then?
Ugh, yes, of course. Let's pretend Halo Reach, Fable III, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2 and no doubt more are on the way for the 360. I had enough of the Wii and Nintendo by the middle of 2008 and traded it in towards a PS3, haven't looked back since. I consider myself a fan of games rather than consoles, can't see the sense behind unwavering loyalty to a box of wires and silicon and huge corporations that are only interested in the contents of my wallet.
- Edit: A quick browse through yo...
GTAmike, I disagree, remove your sony specs and you might see Crackdown 2, Alan Wake, Halo Reach & Fable III. This is in addition to the 360/PC only games like Mass Effect 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction. Sure, you might be able to play such games on your powerful gaming PC, but not everyone is fortunate enough to own such a rig, or perhaps some prefer the simplicity of console gaming with no installs (well, in general...) etc. 2010 will be a good year both the 360 and PS3.
PS...
I'm glad I own both a 360 and PS3, as 2010 looks spectacular all round (unless you happen to own just a Wii)
It depends how you classify a disappointment, in comparison to the PS2, I would agree that the PS3 has been somewhat of a letdown. However, this generation it has easily matched the 360 and for me personally is the superior machine all round, all I really use my 360 for is Halo.
Sadly it looks like you considered Killzone 2 too good to waste time learning how to spell properly.
Pretty much all games look better in cut scenes as there are less tasks for the cpu to perform such as AI.
Only 1st party, and selected 3rd party games have dedicated servers on the PSN, not every game. MW2 is P2P.
vHero, Eurogamer always submit reviews for big games from all it's European publications, just like Uncharted 2 which got 4 10's from Eurogamer, Italy, Spain, Portugal and standard.
