The 800p black border definitely helped no doubt. Without the borders, there is no way it can maintain close to the locked 30fps, not with the processing needed for the graphics and AA.
The graphics are amazing but if future games are going to adopt the black bordering method to achieve those graphics, I rather them scale it back a bit to fill the entire screen.
MS is a software company and they are making good use of their talents to give us geat updates after great updates. The most exciting one I am looking forward to is background music streaming that will be part of the Windows 10 update later on this year. Forza 6 and Jamming my own tunes should be geat.
When I said "Press" this QTE button, I was only using it as an example and not spreading false info as there is no triangle icon I can type in with my keyboard to discribe the action. False info would be telling folks That it has little QTE and the game is full of action and takes them more than 10 hours to beat. Now, that is telling false info.
BTW, my gamefly copy is on the way so let see if the Triangle really does open a door like you are saying.
Already have it sent by Gamefly. Should be on its way.
I was really thinking to go all digital this generation but seeing disappointing games like The Order, AC Unity, Driveclub, and Watch Dog made me realize how much I need Gamefly and actual disc.
All these 50s and 60s review scores can't be wrong. The game should have been only $30 to justify it's value to gamers. Shame because it has great graphics, some neay ideas and setting, too bad the gameplay, direction and value were second thoughts.
Who needs a strategy guide when the game itself mostly consist of hints like "press L2" to open the door, then "press X" to throw a smoke granade.
This is the last game that needs a strategy guide.
I was thinking it might be cool to actually use real card decks in your procession and scan them in via the Kinect to get the result to affect gameplay. That would be awesome
you can't compare what the culture of gaming was back then to today. Back then, cartridges actually cost more to produce and the bigger or longer the game, then more memory are needed to contain the data. There is a reason most of the longer jRPGs were approaching $100 retail. Memory were expensive back then. Today is a different story as space storage is never an issue for games and games need different mode, extras, to make its value worth it to players. Extras, co Op, online feature, d...
There is no case for short games period! not at $60. For that money, games better throw in the kitchen sink. renting is a nice option to have.
Sounds good marlinfan. Looking forward of playing mine in a couple of days.
How long did it took you to get to chapter 13?
Bogus..5 hours is false, it has way more playtime than that. More like 6ish. Either way, 5 hours,6 hours, it is a short game with little replayability and value once beaten.

"After playing The Order: 1886 for myself and completing it during launch day, I’m sad to report that my playthrough only lasted for a mere 6 hours.
Bathyj,
Not everyone has time to stand still and look in every corner to admire the scenery to inflate the play time. Most people play the game on normal setting and that is what most reviewers did and said on multiple review reports that it is a short game and are consistent with what Douglord is saying. Also he, Douglord, was referring to actual gameplay is 3 hours with players actually taking control of the game and not with combining it with the rest of the cut scenes, wh...
OrangePower, because gamers buys videogame entertainment medium that is about giving control to the player and gaming is always meant to be that way even dating back to the $80 cartridge days of the NES. I would be upset if I have to watch through and have the controller taken away from me with cut scenes after cutscenes while playing The Adventure of Zelda after paying $80 for it. It is not that different than the same complaint about the MSV demo issue when Konami was charging $30 for a sho...
Nice pick and choose and I like how you left out any PS4 exclusives like Driveclub and the very own The Order.
Driveclub:
Dualshockers 8.5
Playstation universe 9.5
Gaming age 9.1
Official PS Magazine 9
Gaming Trend 9
The Order:
Dualshockers 8.5
Gaming Trend 9.5
And this one takes the cake coming from you as you commented on an unknown German site that gave the Order a 89/100 with this: ...
Where were all these "we can't trust reviews" article when Ryse was released and got the same low scores as The Order?
All of a sudden all the articles about having concerns for reviews suddenly appears after the underwhelming reviews from most legit reviews when it wasn't there before for another game with a similar fate.
Maybe for people that want to play it the second or third time around to collect trophies and increase their gamerscores. I know for once how unnecessary and painful it can be to have to watch and wait through the same cut scenes again when I just want to skip it and get to the gameplay part. Also the fact that 1/2 the game is cinematic cut scenes, it is not a good combination for repeat playing.
Agreed, can't wait as it looks Spectacular!

Stop being so defensive, as I was just noting what was omitted from the Dualshockers article. You are defending the game like it is your firs born or something.
"You can only sprint when the game lets you. Stop clicking in that left stick every five seconds in between cutscenes. It won’t work. Trust us we’ve tried it.
Because of the way The Order: 1886 works cutscenes flow into playable sections beautifully, but during t...
Cupid..apple to orange comparison.
The Walking dead is a season pass episodic game in which you can buy a pass and get every episodes within the year spread over time or you can also buy each episode separately for $5 each or $25 for the complete 6 episodes season.
Secondly, you already know what the walking dead game is and will be like so the expectation is that is is an interactive game on rail but it is the story the is the main selling point of that game...
Yup, the PNG and uncompressed screenshots look spectacular from the XB1.
