Drake's Fortune is STILL my favourite game ever, but this seems to be an improvement on every aspect.
One problem I do have is the aimer that comes up during run and gun and blind firing. I hope this is optional as I prefer the way Drake's Fortune Played.
This game does look amazing though, with more epic moments like the helicopter and helping the other guy. The first game had nothing like this but I loved it just for it's unbeatable core gameplay. Implementing this...

But seriously I agree with you. I was so excited to hear about a sequel to my all time favourite game. An judging from what I've seen so far, Uncharted 2 has well exceeded my expectations.
I saw Drake's Fortune as a PERFECT game and didn't see how they could improve on it, but obviously the developers saw many ways to improve it. Good for you Naughty Dog, here's one guaranteed customer.

I played through it 20 times though just because it's that awesome.
Are these the same morons who gave Resistance 2 a 6, and Killzone 2 a 7? Because if it is then I don't give a crap about their reviews.
And from that singplayer video I've seen I'm sure that the multiplayer hasn't taken anything away from the Story mode.

But these games were not full price. I paid I think about $30 for both of them.
I'm not impressed at all by these screenshots. They don't seem to have any graphical advantage over Cod 4 or World at War, and they look weak when compared to Killzone 2 or some othet newer shooters.
Well at least we can still hope for it to be a special game. Cod 4 was excellent but there are many ways to improve upon it, and that's what I'm hoping this game will do. I just want it to be a great advancement like Cod 4 was, not a game that plays the same as its predecessor like W...

Hasn't MGS4 and Killzone 2 already proven this? Seeing as how they are graphically a far leap ahead of any other console game, and Drake's Fortune has shown animation quality far better than anything else.
What more proof do they need?

If you've played the first one, you'd know how the cover system works and how it differs from gears. I personnaly find it better than gears because of the unlocked camera angle, which makes getting to cover easier as well as offering some intense run and gun moments like at the beginning of the video. The unlocked camera angle also makes the close up fighting much better than in gears.
The first uncharted was a blend between cover based shooting and adventure with some platforming and vehicle sections thrown in as well, And the developers blended this together to make a pefect seamless experience. So you have nothing to worry about.
I'm sorry but I can't disagree more. Uncharted is one of the few games where I actually cared about the story and characters. It has been obvious for a while that games ave been trying to copy Hollywood, and I still think that Drake's Fortune was the only game to get it right. The believeable characters, interesting and funny dialogue, and numerous plot twists made it very immersive story wise.
Drake's Fortune is still one of my favourte games and this video has confirmed that this game will feature everything that the first game did, as well as some improvements.
Animation has gone from amazing to rediculously amazing
Moving from cover to cover seems to be a lot smoother
Stealth takedowns hace been improved
Weapon damage has been increased to add realism
Riot shields providing movable cover
Climbing is more lika Assassins Creed than Drake'...
I'll be ok as long as they keep them out of multiplayer.
I am excited to hear about the co-op and multiplayer, but I more want to know about the singleplayer. The thing I most want to know if they've changed the gameplay at all, because I seriously hope they haven't.
Drake's Fortune is the greatest SP experience and I hope that in this sequel, the added multiplayer hasn't altered the solo play.
Are they saying that Killzone 2 has bad multiplayer? Because every KZ2 player I know says its the most fun since CoD4, myself included. I have never heard if this Guerilla game before but the video did not impress. And the story sounds only slightly worse than Killzone, Halo or Gears of War, which all have dodgy stories.
Oh well if I want gripping storytelling I'll stick to Metal Gear Solid and Uncharted, but Killzone and Call of Duty still have the best multiplayer.
Drake's Fortune is still my favourite game and it seems they are improving on what they already had right and adding even more.
Keeping the adventure and emotional characters from the first game, and still having no loading screens is great.
