"That's very bad news for Xbox fanboys :P j/k "
Right, it's actually good news for them because they can invent sales about the 360 and Move and the Wii and no one can prove otherwise.
"Actually is good news for everybody."
It's *great* news for people who just want to make up whatever sales fits their world-view and don't like to be proven wrong by facts. Bad news for people who actually are actually...
"Next stop Media Create and Famitsu figures and N4G may be become a slightly more friendly place"
I do not see that happening. This announcement is not even 9 hours old yet and already we have people resorting to insane conspiracy theories about Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft paying off NPD to hide the 'fact' that Move/Wii/Halo/Kinect are/will be failures.
"imagines a N4G without talking about sales..."
Um, N4G will still talk about sales. People will just make up numbers instead and there will be no solid concrete facts to contradict them.
"ALL fanboys spew crap, and ALL will stop with the absence of NPD"
Yeah, because solid, concrete, factual information is what constitutes crap. Surely, made-up numbers based on nothing other than personal speculation can only lead to people developing less biased conclusions. Totally.
The bushes are just clouds, but green.
Red Steel 2's also pretty cheap, now. Picked up the M+ bundle for under $30 the other day.
"Sin & Punishment: Star Successor isn’t the best game for Wii"
Um, yes it is.
Sure, Sega. I'll give you back all the games you sold, you give back the money I paid on each, and it'll be like it never happened.
The holiday line-up is fine. Good first-party support (even including a brand new IP, but since people around here only pretend to care about those, we have to ignore it), a handful of solid third-party efforts, and if circumstances permit some really nice Wiiware entries.
2011's line-up is where people should be worried.
Oh, Tales of Graces made the list, which reminds me: That fan translation should be dropping fairly soon now. And with PSGroove, they might be able to give the same treatment to Graces F once that comes out. Thank goodness for hackers.
"they haven't come up with anything new in years as far as IPs go."
Sin and Punishment: Star Successor was the Venus De Milo of the twenty-first century. I don't remember seeing you in line for it.
"My statement is still factually correct (though no guarantees it’s what’ you’re specifically looking for)."
Hmmm, I'm going to have to guess 'Neopets Puzzle Adventure 2'.
"That's ubisoft having good business sense"
Right, people with good business sense make money and people with bad business sense do not. I would not have it any other way.
"But I can't see how you could EVER say inefficient security measures is a net positive"
It's quite simple. The terrible security means I can brick-proof the system. I can play its games in high-definition. I can not only bypass the reg...
"They have completely inefficient security measures"
This is net positive, since their awful security has allowed modders to do great things with the console. I would think that most people on this site would be pleased at the possibility of playing Wii games in 1080p.
"Way too much crap (shovelware) is allowed."
Also a net positive, since most of the profits from that shovelware goes to keeping big publishers in bus...
"Can somebody explain what the "REMIX TOUR" is? Does it has to do with some of the features modes that ONLY the WII versions were getting and the PS3/x360 weren't?"
Yes. The HD version will now have all modes and features that the Wii version has, plus online.
"revenue streams are what keep a company afloat - to have them eroded by illegal means is to lose you ability to function as a company"
Not a reason I consider sane because not all hacking affects revenue streams negatively. In some cases, hacking that increases usability, e.g., the breaking of a region lock, will more likely increase revenue streams.
"IP is valuable - to allow hackers to dilute the brand means another loss to future revenu...
Er, not really. The Wii's generally-terrible online experience has almost nothing to do with the console hardware and everything to do with the overall external infrastructure that Nintendo runs its online on -- the servers, the databases, and the general philosophy toward online multiplayer in the first place.
Capcom solved this problem (for *their* games at least) by basically setting up its own online infrastructure, which is why online-centric TvC and Tri have mini...
It is also sad because you have to spend valuable time playing RE5 -- time you could spend playing a game that is not RE5.
"Laughable how 6 people disagree"
sidar you shouldn't laugh at people just because they have very low standards.
"And that's why quality games on wii are hard to find"
Alchemist is talking about the DS, though.
Here's hoping some brave soul leaks the entire NPD report.
Information wants to be free.
