European numbers vs. American numbers. It's the metric system all over again.
:-(
I remember when the word 'Epic' used to be a noun...
"Alan Wake completely forgotten so much so it's not on the list"
I take it you missed the 'Dishonorable Mentions' section?
"Yahtzee once again shows his hate for America."
No need to get mad; Yahtzee's just jealous because we have more freedom than he does.

"All their major releases seem to be varying 8.0 scores."
There, there, Galaxy 2. Don't cry. *I* won't forget you.
So more kids 6-12 want a PSP than a 360? Can't say I saw that one coming.
That's fine, but if game developers want to have a product that justifies actual purchase and ownership, they really should not put out something that can be beaten in a rental period.
"Wherever these Hardcore Wii players are - they don't come to N4G"
That is probably a wise move on their part.
"once you played HD, just being good games with low res graphics doesn't cut it anymore."
Most of those games are perfectly playable in HD, though.

"not everyone has a high end pc"
In the first place, Dolphin requires what was a 'high end' PC a couple years ago. Current revisions run fairly well on what are by today's standards pretty much any half-decent PCs.
In the second place, it is not like the Dolphin is the only possible benefit (gaming or otherwise) one derives from owning a solid computer rig -- this should be obvious even to a child. In fact, owning an up-to-date compu...
"Unless you have bought the game"
Buying the game and using your Wii to burn it to a disk playable in your PC is the easiest way to run the Dolphin, so yes. Viable and totally legal.
I don't see what the problem is.
"Epic Mickey in 1080p looks quite sharp, certainly the way I'd like to play the game, given the option. But since Junction Point's take on Mickey Mouse is strictly Wii right now, beggars can't be choosers."
This writing makes no sense to me. Using the Dolphin is clearly a viable option. You can choose to play the game in that way; you just posted video of someone doing just that!
"The absolute most absurdly overused phrase in all the land"
I don't know, I would give the edge to some variation of 'drinking/drank/drunk the koolaid'.
"This and Chuck Norris analogies"
Agreed.
Mitsuda > Uematsu.
Still, really hoping they bring this stateside.
"It would have to outpace the Wii by more than 20,000 units a month, unless you are talking about a long, long lifetime."
At that rate, the two install bases will be the same by around February.
Of 2088.
To be fair, that is apparently more than either Enslaved or Vanquished sold their first month over here in the US. :-/
Vanquish, noooooooooo!!!
In general, Industry Gamers is a pretty terrible site, badly-designed, hard on the eyes, and run by complete and utter hacks.
That said, many thanks for the numbers!
I don't think we should blame people for comparing the new game to the old game, in fact, I think we should blame people for what they're doing, which is comparing a videogame to some imagined, nostalgia-tainted, rose-colored glasses-viewed memory of 'the good old days' or whatever.
Nintendo is hard a company to love, sometimes.
