And on the heels that case in Spain where the court justly struck down Sony's efforts to kill homebrew, to boot. Oh, and the complete implosion of the US government's case against Matthew Crippen and the American modding community.
What a fantastic December this has been for our freedom.
Pretty solid year all around. But the Wii had Sin and Punishment, so it clearly wins.
"THE SAME PEOPLE who wouldnt mind use DOLPHIN (dont give me that shit about how you buy the games first)"
Please don't say such crazy things, sidar. As it is, I have enough of a headache trying to convince the people around these parts that modding and pirating are not the same thing.
Not even a mention of Star Successor. For shame.
Paradise has been available for multiple platforms for around eight months now -- calling it an exclusive at this point strikes me as a little odd. Likewise, I have not looked at Metacritic in a while, but I would be very surprised if Epic Mickey were holding anywhere close to an 80+ score on it.
MadWorld, though, they actually announced that? Is there a link to that?
"I was simply addressing PlayerX's claims that people are doing "damage ...
"BTW a bunch of those current Wii exclusives are heading to PS3"
I do not disagree with your overall point, but I am somewhat curious as to the 'bunch' of current exclusives you are referring to. All I can think of is Extraction and maybe Muramasa. Am I missing anything?
"the only downside is the online multiplayer"
I disagree with this; not that the online is particularly good -- it's not -- but the worst part of Brawl is easily the 20-hour Subspace Army Mode or whatever it's called.
Nintendo's IP and money, Mistwalker and AQ Interactive's work.
Warms my heart seeing a Star Successor screenshot as the article's lead-in pic. Even if that game had sold a million copies, it still would not have gotten the appreciation it deserved.
The correct answer is obviously Metal Slug 3, but Majora's Mask really is sublime. Easily the best game they had in the running.
Good for Gamefaqs for actually getting the choice right.
Disagree entirely.
As someone who prioritizes refined game mechanics over novelty and some misplaced sense of nostalgia, I found that pretty much every sequel released this year was vastly superior in every conceivable way to (and therefore by definiton greater than) each respective game that came before.
On a slight tangent, this is also why 98 is a pretty terrible year by my standards -- historical significance aside, most titles mentioned are essenti...
Oh, Activision, no one is ever going to harm you as much as you harm yourselves.
oh god IGN wrote a good article
this must be a sign of the apocalypse
"Vanquish"
Revise and resubmit.
"How about Super Meat Boy?"
Should definitely be in the running for overall GOTY, but as a sequel to a game that came out two years ago it's not really an original IP.
"My personal favourite NEW IP-OTY is either Enslaved"
Can we really call a remake of a four hundred year-old Chinese novel a 'new IP'?
This was a pretty solid year, but there were only five or so games that were really exceptional enough to warrant listing.
Sin and Punishment: Star Successor
Star Craft 2
Galaxy 2
Bayonetta
Meat Boy
Dragon Quest was also pretty slick; one of these days I should get around to finishing that.
Hey, Gametrailers got it right for once.
"Retarded logic there bud."
Yes, saying that the same games the Sixaxis had will somehow magically make the Move into a commercial giant *is* pretty silly logic.
But hey, if the Boulderweekly wants to publish fanboy wet dreams, that is their right.
<3 Star Successor.
