Yes, Microsoft is spending their advertising budget on blog fluff pieces. I don't think it will pay off for them any better than it usually does.
True. Most people are going for the Series S/gamepass combo. A race to the bottom for specs and profit. Xbox is the budget console. Why try to sell high end? Their real goal is to get out of hardware entirely and make people stream through their TVs and phones.
Just stating facts. Another fact for ya: Sony's showcase had more and better games. 😉
I'm done with games that make you backtrack after you die. It was novel at first but now that every game is doing it it is just annoying. Just let me fight the stupid boss again. Don't make me slog around maze again. Keep all the other Souls-like aspects but lose that part. It was never the selling point anyway. The selling point of Souls games is the tight gameplay requiring thoughtful and precise tactics.
Further down the drain would be my guess. They have already turned a great couch co-op shooter into an online storefront for microtransactions. There is no going back.
Their assessment of what "Sony games are now" Is basically boiling down the classic three act story structure used in all storytelling and trying to shoehorn all their games into being "the same" based on that. It's a false narrative. They all tell good and engaging stories while simultaneously having top notch gameplay but the gameplay and the stories they tell are all very different.
It's a Persona spin-off in all but name. It's a good formula but I would rather seen them stretch the boundaries of what they can do. Also would love to see more Japanese games made in anything besides the Anime style. They characters all look identical besides their haircuts. It's time Japan moved on.
The enemy curve was bad. They were either pushovers or could kill you in two hits. Nothing in between.
Yeah, they're right. It's taken a big hit and they still can't keep a stable 30fps at 1200p. Things are looking bleak over at Bethesda King Blizzard Microsoft Activision.

Typical Eurogamer. Since Microsoft doesn't think it's a good idea neither do they. If Microsoft was planning one they would be singing the praises of potential machine learning or dedicated ray tracing hardware.
Neither link works. What are they supposed to say?
They slapped a Mohawk on it and used a bullshot with overly dramatic lighting you won't see on the game.
Obsidian has multiple teams and this one is clearly out of it's depth.
Always on the back foot. I guess they want Sony to establish total dominance before dipping their toes into shark infested waters. That's their MO. Show up 10 years late to every party. The real reason they don't want to do VR is that it's incompatible with their vision of an all streaming future. Streaming is too slow for VR refresh rates and latency requirements.
They keep trying different spins to see what sticks... If anything I saw nothing in the Xbox showcase that would appeal to casuals. Not that casuals even watch these things...
Wide as an ocean deep as a pond. 995 randomized planets and 5 maybe worth exploring. Dreams has literally infinite potential.
Makes sense. I've heard the way games are made is that they first make an entire set of assets for the trailer then they throw those out and remake the game from scratch in a year after getting player feedback.
The title of the article is "State of Decay 3 Raises the Bar for Zombie Gaming"
It won't hold a candle to the games I mentioned. Clear enough?
Looks soulless like all Forza games. GT7 especially in VR is 1000 times more enthralling.
