Internet you will have a lot of people putting down what they don't like or don't have. It is VERY easy to downplay graphics because you DON'T need to play the game to have an opinion (for the most part). Time after time, these people don't affect anything besides whatever website forum they on to make those forums less fun.
FYI, I don't think ANYONE had to 'look past' the graphics of GOW or Zero Dawn lol
If you like story drive games with good combat and want a lot of stuff to do, I will say try out Horizon Zero Dawn. One thing I been reading in Spider man reviews is that you don't need to use your full arsenal so reviewers don't change things up.

It seems 10 to 20 seems to be the typical number of hours of most story driven SP games nowadays. I think it took a whole generation (last one) to learn what the proper number of hours that SHOULD be in a game without being upset (full price).
I am kind of upset, I really want Forsaken, and I heard really good things about it, but I just don't have the time for it. I just feel I did Destiny 2 already. I weirdly don't have this urge to level up. I do want to try that bow out lol

Just seeing the main character walk around with tons of whatever on his back got me excited. I don't know if it will be an exploring game, but hell, the concept is really cool and looking forward to more game play.
I never heard of that game before, I will check it out, never had a PS1. I do like the concept of that. I want a steep learning curve for the combat, well, not steep, just a skilled based one.
I just want to know how the combat works, will people die in one or two hits, will you die in one or two hits? How many moves do we have, do we have multiple swords, do we have items? Do we have to block in certain direction like in For Honor, there are a lot of things I want to know. So far it is looking good!
We can have this debate, but I think for the most part, people say free games because it easier to say not because they think it is free. We mainly pay PS + and Gold to play our games online and with our friends. Our mindset is that the money goes towards the infrastructure of that platform we choose. We all know how AWFUL the PS3 UI, and how far back it was compared to the 360.
With that said, for a game like Destiny 2 where you pretty much need PS + to play with friends...
I thought the same thing and the more I think about it, it is a great idea. You are still getting a lot of game play in the vanilla version. If the person likes the game, the money they saved can go into DLC. You do NEED the first two DLC to play Forsaken, I believe.
They are literally things you UNLOCK in the game... just like how you unlock more of the story by playing missions.
It doesn't look new, but definitely ambitious. The media, did a great job hyping this game up to be revolutionary. The footage looked great, I am now interested in this game because of that but once again, this may suffer a little bit on the media hyping this up to be a huge revolution for gaming. Of course, there is probably a lot that we don't know so we will see.

When it comes to the main type of games people buy, shooters, which tend to be much easier in game play compared to melee type games/RPGs. With that said, a lot of video games are made so the player has the advantage in most situations. That can be automatic health regeneration, a lot of ammo, enemies die with less bullets compared to the player, player has any options to take down stuff and etc.

This feels similar to the backlash that BF 1 got before it was released (not as bad but still). That BF became the best selling BF in their franchise. I really have no worries about BF V and premium is out of the question which makes me even happier.
You also have to remember BF 1 was also in the same boat before it came out. People didn't want the setting because lack of variety in weapon and vehicles. The longer TTK people didn't like. But BF 1 became their best selling BF game to date.
The reason why it was so popular was because they didn't really show much and the game was really good and ran well. I have no doubt about BF V, it is going to be a fun game that lasts awhile.

Most of your concerns are personal based. Invisible walls... come on, who cares, I get it, but that doesn't take me away from the experience. You are trying to find something wrong. I never had a problem with the camera, you just need to be aware if there are a lot of enemies around. There SHOULD be annoying enemies that you fight, not all enemies should be a walk in the park.
One thing Sony does and why I keep buying their console is that they constantly put out top tier story driven games. I grew up with PvP, and that was the only thing I did, but I don't have a lot of time to stay competitive in some of these games. Also, I just want to relax with a good story with good game play mechanics.
