I don't wish to sound like a numbnut but FF8 wasn't that good. The junction system was convoluted and you HAD to draw magic to get the best stats. Not to mention Triple Triad was utterly abysmal and the plot was complete hogwash.
@liliyoyo The Fable series held great promise but was ultimately all hype and I'm including the entire series. ME3 was also all hype and the game isn't as good as it's claimed to be. FF13 had more than enough hype since it's the only next-gen FF to exist right now. Too Human was also hyped to be the next big thing but fell flat on it's face due to development problems, legal troubles with Epic etc. Enter the Matrix sold 5 million copies thanks to the hype surrounding the g...
Really? How about the Fable series or Mass Effect 3? Modern Warfare 3? FF 13? Too Human? Enter the Matrix? Spore? How about that useless game Rise of the Robots if anyone remembers that?
God, that was horrendous.
Hawken looks really interesting and there is also a controller in the prototype stage that is similar to the Steel Battalion controller.

Games have already been to these places though. Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh had kinky BDSM sex in it and a BDSM club. The Ultima series also had a tendency for infanticide as well and the Punisher for the PS2 had some torture moments in it where you can take out a goon in some ridiculous fashion.
Mind you; I doubt publishers would have the balls to make games like that anymore.
You had a Turbografx16? I wish I had one but they never sold them in my area. I generally agree with the sentiments that your article puts across.
One game that no-one will ever remake would be Weaponlord for the Snes.
Interesting article. It's a good thing that they are doing, but at the same time, one cannot help but feel that they are attempting to grab some P.R. out of this. Either way, legislation like what has been mentioned in the article should be thrown out.
You know what really killed The Old Republic? Bioware killed it. Blame the fans all you want, but if your MMO can't even match WOW; your MMO is destined for failure. Besides, no-one that I know wanted an MMO experience. All they wanted was KOTOR 3.
Hate is an irrational emotion that clouds one's very reason. I feel nothing at all for the games in the article whatsoever. So if someone sees something that I don't in any of those titles in question; who am I and who are you to say that they are wrong?
Oh c'mon. Marcus Fenix is such a stud muffin. ;)
Naughty Dog should be way higher and some of those companies shouldn't even be on that list.
Interesting article despite typos here and there.
I greatly doubt that the N4G community will agree with those sentiments though.
Do you want some salsa for that chip on your shoulder?
Deadly Premonition is great.
The fella is kinda right. A lot of games have become victims of their own success and have became franchises that have/will stagnate and the result is that most games have become samey.
If they follow the GW2 model; it could work out really well for them.
Cool. I'm okay with this.
First off. I'm a Celtic fan and I agree wholeheartedly that Rangers should've been punished for what they have done. You're clearly not up to speed with what Rangers did; so let it break me down for you. Rangers were caught not paying tax for players wages through something known as an EBT which was started around about the 2001-2010 time period. This meant that they were paying player's wages without paying any tax on their earnings whatsoever.
Meaning they ...
Game journalism is an utter fraud for a number of reasons. Video game companies see critics as outlets for their marketing schemes. They refuse to ask the tough questions, get caught up in the hype and give out sweetheart reviews to whatever game is being marketed on their collective websites. I agree with the sentiments of this blog, but gamers are also very much to blame for this practice. Large groups of gamers will defend a game to the death if it's not been rated as highly as they wo...
