The Nintendo 3DS is selling at a faster pace then the original DS. So the debate is as of now going in the favor of me and Nintendo supporters worldwide.
If the Nintendo 3DS were performing worse then I would bow out of this debate and agree with you. Right now Nintendo is very much on track to surpass the original DS lifetime sales with the 3DS.
Realistically all we can do is wait and just keep an eye on the numbers from time to time....

I hope you are correct about the characters system hopping. I don't know how enjoyable of an experience it will be for me without Cloud and Tifa around. Those are by far my favorite Final Fantasy characters. Let's just hope that all the favorites from everyones favorite Final Fantasy games make the cut.
I also know that there is zero chance of Final Fantasy 7 - 10 making it to the record breaking Nintendo 3DS.
