What makes you think I pay for XBL so that I can play online?
I pay for XBL because I like all the features it has to offer me vs. what the competition offers me for free.
Being able to play online with my XBL gold membership is just a free bonus.

See to me, I need BC. I don't want my stand in my TV room crammed with all sorts of hardware. I prefer 1 system that runs my library of games. My TV only has so many inputs for devices.
Luckily I don't have a very big PS3 library so I will be trading in my PS3 and all my games for a PS4 if I choose to get one...which after seeing last nights unveiling most likely will happen so long as last nights unveiling wasn't just another over promising and under deliverin...

I agree with you on all points but 2. I think the 720 and the PS4 will be close in raw power, maybe even giving the slight advantage to the 720, but I disagree that the 720 will be 2x as powerful as the 720. That would be an insanely powerful home console. The PS4 is no slouch in power (even if it is just off the shelf parts) but the 720 being 2x more powerful.......i just don't see that happening while still maintaining to be cost effective to sell to custo...
8Gb of DD5 RAM is awesome but....
1) Sony has a long history of over promising and under delivering
2) MS would want parity with 3rd party games, so expect MS to up their RAM from DDR3 to DDR5 since they could afford taking the initial hit on the console then Sony could. If Sony can afford it you know damn well MS can.

Showing a console gives more credibility that the specs listed are actually in the system. It's not 100% creditable since Sony lied about some specs in the PS2 and PS3 where they actually showed the console and yet didn't show up in the final release, but seeing a console gives the consumer a better assurance that what they are seeing is what they are getting.

I can't believe it will be 8gb of DDR5 RAM.
This is going to be an expensive console.
Of course Sony does have a very long history of over promising and under delivering so the DDR5 RAM could change to DDR3 or back to 4gb of DDR5.
Will be interesting to see what MS offers in comparison in order to keep multiplat games on par with the PS4 counter part.

From what I have read, the 720 will be just as powerful as the PS4 but will be able to handle the work load much more efficiently then the PS4.
Anyone who actually understood how the 720's custom APU works and the move functions combined with the 8gb DDR3 RAM would see that this custom set up is more powerful then the off the self PC parts that Sony is using to create their mid-range PC PS4.
