The regular release day is Thursday, in this case the unit was released on Sunday .. which is kinda strange as its not done usually.
not this year
Imho a rather good review from the revieweress of judgment sitting on the floor of judgment in her room of judgment ....
:)
And i agree with the price, i bought it for EUR 99 = $ 140 :S
Quote from later in the same thread: "Are you sure your changelog is accurate? Users are reporting that BD+ rips do not work in standalone players or PS3.
Also the latest version of PowerDVD disables playback from hard drives completely. It might be back to the drawing board."
The warez industry is effectively driving the content producers away from formats the warzers support. This add to the changelog could backfire in a quite nasty way.
I am not convinced that this is any proof that DivX support is coming to PS3, but it would be great if it does. I don't want to re-encode countless video files to playback on the PS3, as someone else said before, every darn $30 DVD Player features DivX playback nowadays, why not the expensive next gen consoles?
would you want to force people to redownload your official themes after you released home if you where a sony staff guy? no
Hence the Themes already includes a Home icon as Home is coming early 08.
*groan*
Look at the blabber gang starting to come up with made up virus threads and "no firewall == teh d00m" crap
The software announced is a WEBFILTER for parents to limit web access to "safe" sites for their kids. Its not more than another cybernanny/kidsafe whatever ...
It is not an anti-virus, neither is it a firewall nor some trojan-protection. The part about virus threads is completely made up by the source to sound some...
I wonder why the poster used a picture from an ultra rightwing nationalist nazi party of Germany for a newspost on an American market research company ....
On topic: i guess vgchartz came close enough to their numbers every month so they fear the paying customers might just skip their costly rates and use the freely available numbers instead. Hence they try to remove one source vgchartz used to finetune their numbercrunching. Pretty sad actually.
certainly it does
no question there
Slow admin times .. its still there ..
Seems offering cash prizes for contribution brought up the worst in some people, hence they post every piece of crap they find, hoping it sparks a flamewar so they get the $250.
The genuine pieces of NEWS get burrowed below the avalanche of sh!t flamebaits.
sad
It is always sad for devs if not mentioned in the credits, cause when all is said and done thats what feeds their credibility, and hence their chances on the market.

Did i miss anything sofar?
I guess not ..
tsk tsk tsk
Cause PS1 BC is completely software based while PS2 BC is partially hardware based?
*rolleyes*
And now, taking the past into consideration, we only have to wait till early 2009 to finally buy GT5
*sigh*
if only the screens where provided at a more HD res to admire ... :(
The childish made up "admit" aside (they just said that the assumptions by some people lacked any merit) it is interesting that they managed to reduce overall power consumption from ~200W to ~140W without using the 65nm design chips. Thats ~30% lower power consumption by using only an optimized cooling design. I would love to see how much they can reduce it again when they start using 65nm chips for the Cell and the GPU. And then there is still the next step to 45nm ...
well certainly he is, please keep up the voting so he again reaches his 1-2 bubble place and hence dissapears from my view ...
Thx N4G for the autoignore on x bubbles feature.
Best you know what you wish for: you wish for the total removal of commercially middleware, as no middleware developer could sell the middleware without a) having the licensee stealing its IP and b) dragging them to court if they fail to master the middle wares tools and procedures cause they need to make up more money for their incompetence.
Epic loosing would mean every dev would have to build his own engine from ground up again= increased cost = less games = less time for g...
Download???
Where did you get that idea?
