Midway (the distributor for UT3) made an announcement that the release frame for the PS3 version changed from Q4_07 to Q4_07-Q1_08 = Midway expects a delay till early 08 latest.
Mark then commented on that with the statement that he HOPES to get the PS3 version out still in late December, but only if its done by that date. If its not completely finished it will come out in early 08 cause Epic won't ship nonfinished games.

the "no BC" part was cause the original rumor source sadly has NO clue about the BC that is in every EU PS3 and in the 80gig SKU, cause both lack the EE chip that was used for hardware BC in the jpn and US launch SKU's
Not without "hacking" the PSP. There is a software called "popstation" that can convert PS1 titles into psp-playable ps1 titles. But it only works on modded psp's

I don't know why people disagree here (except for the posters history) but for once he is right, the "no later release" contract has been confirmed by rockstar. So an early PS3 version is unrealistic.
UT3 without mod support does not sound like a superior version to me.

Announcement is the pricedrop to $399 for the entry model, that they had to wait until the $20 million worth of media hype and marketing Microsoft spilled all over the world was done. Now Halo 3 is yesterdays news, and the public looks for other interesting news, and mid Oct. is perfect timing for the X-mass season.

Last report was that they will have ~3000 songs in the download shop for release, including all old singstar songs, i just hope they still allow usage of the PS2 disks, cause i don't want to rebuy all the songs.
first successful 360 hack took around 4 month after the console was released. Still not possible to run homebrew soft on it afaik, but that is only the most common excuse for modding anyways, the real reason is warez.
