What he is saying is that it has become very likely that a lawsuit will be pursued because a person can now basically sue for anything. It is called minimizing risk. Unless you are a white male Descrimination is very easy to claim and even if the lawsuit does not go to trial there are huge image ramifications.
The emulation scene is exactly why nintendo can't sell the VC. People know there is no excuse for not having more games on there if a guy in his garage can put out an emulator that is pretty accurate and very playable. I get nintendo wants to make money but they are too greedy.

Seriously though, Microsoft has been surprising me with Phil in the lead and I am glad they are making such a great effort to make their console a games haven. I am no longer hoping for them to fail, but hope they stay around to help keep Sony on their toes.

While i see your point you are trying to make, Cars and lots of other consumer tech from ovens and dishwashers are usually legally expected to continue servicing the products and parts for 5- 10 years. Consoles are doing this. but with these .5's coming out will the originals be serviced as long?
the thing is though while i do not have to buy anything, i don't like buying something like a console half-way. it is something i buy the best in. secondly how long till until original ps4 will not be able to play certain game modes or other stuff in newer games. it is certainly possible.
I do want it to fail. I don't want planned obsolescence in my consoles. I don't expect a ps3 length life cycle. But I have my ps4 since February of 2014. So I have my console for 2 years and they plan on releasing a new version. I make enough money to buy the new one. My wife will probably get it for out January anniversary. I am easy to buy for.
