Who's disagreeing with you? Carpenter's soundtrack for Halloween, for example, completely transformed the movie. I'd love to see Carpenter give video-game music a go. Not sure what property he'd be best suited for though. Death Stranding would be a good candidate but that game's soundtrack already seems dope.
Let's examine what you just said. You're actually deliberating whether being unpaid for hundreds of hours of overtime is acceptable and you're doing so with a straight face. Why are you defending such a terrible practice? I think that we can reasonably assume that workers would like to be paid for their work.
Collective bargaining is a pretty basic concept. Given the fact that crunch is endemic in the games industry, its obvious that the individual has no effect...
Agreed. This should be seen as a good move for the games industry.
Game of the Year seems to alternate between Sony and Nintendo. They both make "God"-tier games. :)
A lot of people unreported their hours because you have to note how long it took you to complete each individual task on, for example, JIRA. You don't want to say that it took you a long time to complete a task.
Good stuff. Crunch time over a long period of time is completely unacceptable. When Bobby Kotick's yearly bonus alone is over $30 million, why shouldn't workers stand up for themselves and ensure that they are working reasonable hours? Their work is what makes these companies billions of dollars.
Unions are demonized in America by the right but anyone with common sense will understand that workers standing together is the most effective way to fight against crunch a...
Isn't Kassandra's voice acting supposed to be a bit better?
Ah, now. This is not a good argument. I'm a massive PlayStation guy but backwards compatibility is a great feature. It's just one of the things that made the PS2 my favourite console ever (followed closely by PS3).
PS Now makes a ton of money because people want backwards compatability. The PS4 would have sold just fine without PS1 and PS2 remakes but that's not going to stop millions of people from playing Crash Team Racing again.
If PS5 isn&...
For PC gaming, it was pretty meh though. PS4 was fantastic this year.
Consoles for the afterlife
To be fair, Doom and Wolfenstein are highly optimised linear shooters where 1080p 60fps is the standard. There's a lot more room to downgrade the resolution, framerate, textures, effects, anti-aliasing, etc than other big budget games. These games could probably be made to run on PS3 and the 360 as well. Some cross-gen games like Shadow Of Mordor ran like crap on PS3 whereas Wolfenstein: The New Order was buttery smooth.
Yep. It's weird that some people claim that the Switch has better third party support than the N64 or the GC as well. That's just not true. Almost no big third party games are being ported to the Switch except some games like Doom that start off at 1080p 60fps as a standard (more room to cut).
Personally, I prefer paying an upfront cost. I'll give them props for all of the free DLC but with all due respect, one of the main reasons that Warframe gets praise for its business model is down to the fact that the whole game is about endlessly grinding anyway. This means that the loyal player base will never accept ANY criticism leveled at being able to pay money to bypass some of the grinding (even though many of them have bought Platinum). The player base literally thinks that you...
Dude, please stop defending in-game ads in a big-budget video-game. Nothing good will come of it.
Cool. I'm definitely going to have to get around to playing this game. From what I can tell, this new content is going to be free.
I get it. He's mostly going to be playing it in short bursts or as a quick distraction. Digital is more convenient for that specitic kind of game. Tetris Effect looks dope but $40 is definitely a bit steep for Tetris.
Could games journalists kindly f*** off already? If anyone is "entitled", it's them expecting to receive games, DLC, boosters, etc early and requesting codes for friends (e.g. KindaFunny). This is projection. Calling gamers entitled over this issue is as moronic as saying that game critics were just being entitled when Bethesda stopped giving them early copies of their games.
It's bad enough hearing journalists push the idea the video-games couldn't ex...
Maybe EA should give DICE the time they need to actually finish their games instead of forcing them to milk their properties until they're driven into the ground.
Battlefield isn't FIFA. Big changes are needed between iterations. Even Activision gives their COD teams 3 years to make a game. DICE have made at least 1 game every year since 2015. It's taking its toll on them. They had more time to develop BF1 than BFV and it shows.
Agreed. If they are going to make this an open-world game, at least try to approach designing it in a unique way. Its Beyond Good and Evil 2, not Far Cry 6. Spotting locations like in Steep is not something I'm enthusiastic about doing again.
It's awesome, alright. If the PS4 is actually tracking all this data they should let us see the stats for all our games and not just the top 3 though.
