But it has Levolution, which means it's gonna be sooooo much better.

The animations do seem a bit better, but yeah their player models are still flat and lifeless. You can tell it's the same garbage system that the new Live is using too.

Add this to so games getting delayed or just not being ready in time from the start with rumored issues with both consoles, it really seems both Sony and MS rushed to get these things shipped.

Ancient Aliens?

Don't tell Giorgio Tsoukalos.

PS4 has to "cache", which means data is going on your HDD regardless. It's not a full install, so it will read the disc while playing, but the most heavily used data will be your HDD for quicker loading. There's no way around it, so there will be no playing from the disc only.

It is still an option to fully install the game to your hard drive if you'd rather, though.

Not only are some effects missing, but some things are completely changed like your character's camo style and how the clouds are black instead of white.

To me, it almost looks like DICE didn't try that hard in making the PS4 version. Whether it was due to some deal with MS (entirely possible) or laziness on DICE's part (also possible), I don't know.

I understand that it's a different API and slightly different hardware, but some things...

I think that's my biggest disappointment in this generation. Last gen, consoles were somewhat competitive when they were released. This generation they were way underpowered from the start.

Granted, I don't need want an $800 dollar console, but I'd at least like something that will natively use all the pixels on my TV screen.

Right now, I'm thinking I'll upgrade to a series 7 Nvidia after the price cut(rocking a 580 right now) for most gam...

I know, that's why I said nobody is going to stop.

But I'm talking specifically about BF4. None of this is final code, so we have most of a month before we see what both versions end up looking like.

I really wish they'd do like Bungie and add the older DLC maps into the mix so everyone could have them. Help unify the community more so than everyone having different map packs and weaponry.

I'd like to ask DICE why the hell the PS4 has different camouflage and cloud colors.

4472d ago 11 agree0 disagreeView comment

Pretty much, especially all those pictures from DF with the settings screwed up. Nobody is going to do this, but the d!ick measuring should stop for now. We won't know what both versions will ultimately look like until a month from now.

Just so you'll be aware, the clouds aren't missing at all. In the X1 version, the cloud are merely white like they are in the PC version. While I think the PS4 definitely looks better, it is a bit of an oddball on some things like the clouds and the fact that the camo is different.

I do hope they let us do this again. Although being able to download while playing may make it unnecessary. I can shoot some Helghast in the face while waiting for it download.

Mainly I hope the updates go quicker than they do on PS3. Sometimes I think that system has burned more energy updating firmware than it has playing games.

Most of them are online features, so it's a moot point if you can't download it. As far as Blu-ray, a huge part of playing movies is software, which probably just didn't get included before they shipped.

It's the same reason you can't just stick a Blu-ray drive into a PC and watch movies. You have to have software to play the movie and do the DRM checks.

EDIT: Also... Xbone sux, PS4Life! :P

To me, it definitely looks like a port from PC/XB1 over to PS4. Reason I say that is that some textures are exactly the same for two D3D versions, yet the PS4 is different. The camo is a good example. The XB1 has the same camo as the PC version, yet the PS4 has something totally different. Almost like they forgot what it was supposed to look like when recoding it for the PS4 API. Probably more a part of why they look different than the hardware inside.

Either way, there's...

But the X1 camo, along with some other textures, is exactly like the camo from the PC version. You can definitely tell it's a port to a different API when you compare those to the PS4.

That's the only thing I ever play. I never cared for COD matches with low player counts.

lol, yeah that is an ugly reflection. But look at that car!

Wut?

4474d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

You guys and your semantics. lol

Just meant every game has to have data installed (cached) to the hard drive. There's no way it could get going that fast solely streaming off the disc.

Now as for whether it's truly installed versus still running the disc, beats me. I would imagine fully installed to get it as fast as possible.
