I was surprised at just how much you can punish a Titan while on foot. I've taken out more than one solo with nothing but arc grenades and Archers. And if you're behind one that's preoccupied, you can put a serious hurt on it quickly.
To be honest, some of it does have a COD feel while you're on foot, especially at the beginning, Run-N-Gun and a occasional camper in the windows...but once there are Titans everywhere, it's better than any COD game that's came out. Also, some of the underlying stuff is exactly COD, namely leveling, challenges, class system, etc. If anything, I'd say this is a big evolution of COD, not a "COD with mechs".
But having said that, if playing COD gets ...
For a full game, I think that's is about right. You'll be unlocking a lot of stuff, so you'll need time to go back and change things up.
I got on for PC from the start and haven't had the first issue the whole time. May change upon open beta and full release, but so far it's been a buttery smooth experience.
Depends on how you use it, really. If you're good at flanking and moving a little more stealthily, it can be a great weapon, especially once you get the faster lock-on upgrade. If you're, "I see the enemy and am going to run directly towards them", then you'll die pretty quickly, especially with the amount of people who like to sit windows and fire carbines, COD style.
Heck, I'm 1-2 on most of my matches using it..
Been playing on PC all day, very fun. My only concern is how much variety there will be in the final game. Not many modes in the beta and only two maps, plus Respawn hasn't said much about that.
I'd trade in my wife for one.
This is EA we're talking about. I'm willing to bet that the reason they backed MS so hard from the start was because they knew of the DRM. Those kind of Draconian measures are something EA would eat right up.
What's with the soldier's arms in picture 4? Another Conduit, perhaps?
The screen isn't quite as good, but everything else is better.
It's not that the sun rises from there, it's that THEY do.
Most people watching the game aren't going to be huge gamers, and many like myself, use the commercials to get snacks and bathroom breaks. I can look up the few good commercials that air later on the internet.
But even if that wasn't the case, judging by the last few halftime shows, the NFL hates it's fans anyway.
I could definitely see them doing both at once. Have the Halo 2 story in HD then the maps functioning in the Halo 5 MP gameplay. Pretty much what they did with Halo:CE Anniversary.
Either way, I don't see Halo 5 slipping until 2015. That is their guaranteed heavy hitter for the year. Wouldn't be surprised to then see the new Gears next fall and have them alternating after that.
Because people won't shut up about it. Goons on the internet are a small percentage of overall users, but they are by far the most vocal.
I do, too, as long as they don't pull another Overstrike.
Or maybe what it's actually for is a way to let people in the future who have a PS4 or Vita play great games from last-gen without having to buy another console.
I personally could care less about backwards compatibility on my PS4, because I still have a PS3. It runs those games better than any emulator will.
Those guards are ridiculously good shots.
I don't mind little things like that, but product placement like what was in The Island is downright annoying.
I'd like to see EA get another crack at baseball. Say what you want about Madden and Live, but their MVP series was good stuff.
Speaking of F2P, I wonder if Call of Duty Online is ever going to leave China?
