Not sure what Second Son has to do with anything, here.
No, they don't.
OT: Glad to see the icon remain! Bring on Crash and we're complete!
Hasn't even been 10. It was announced in May 2006, at E3.
Indeed. Precisely why when I see the site's name, I generally skip the article. I didn't realize so many others agreed, though, so I, at least, had to comment here.
Wanting to play the games in 4K is actually not the same as just wanting them to be of better quality than what the PS3 and 360 offered. My gripe with what Rookie said stands. The games he mentioned, at no point, were painful experiences and actually showed what you can accomplish when you push closed platforms, like consoles, to their limits.
That's like saying what we have now are "painful' to watch when we know the PS5 and next Xbox will have better specs. Tha...
@ Vlk: Nope. The PS4 provided an experience the PS3 couldn't. And you know what, there's not only nothing wrong with that, but very much in tune with how generations go. That's like saying Mario Kart Double Dash is what Mario Kart 64 should have been, because the GameCube provided a, technically, better experience. Well, of courser it did, it was on a stronger machine.
The Last Of Us was given to us on the platform it was designed for and then "prettied up&qu...
There was absolutely nothing painful about RDR, Gears, or Uncharted's output. In fact, they let us know EXACTLY what those machines were capable of.
OT: Still taking the wait and see approach, here.
Denial is a powerful thing. Seems you're in it.
OT: Because From has learned the inner workings of the PS4 to a better degree, the result, coupled with the fact that the PS4 is already more powerful, isn't shocking.
Sounds like wishful thinking to me.
OT: Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing some Halo games make their way over. If that's to happen - anyone's guess.
@ Majister: Um.....if it included all that stuff and was $399, people would have complained. It isn't and people are moaning. THAT'S my point.
Yeah, people will moan and complain no matter what. Had it been $399 and INCLUDED all of that, people would still have bitched about it.
Will you be able to build a PC for $400 and buy Oculus for $600 and keep it under that amount - AND get the same performance out of that machine you would a PS4?
Didn't think so.
"This "money" isn't worth the paper it's printed on"!
Looks absolutely nothing like Tomb Raider.
In-engine. The game-play won't look quite as good (but it will be close).
@ Alexious: Rumor has it that people picked through that game's files and found, mostly, DX11 stuff. Meaning, it was, most likely, rushed out to beat HITMAN. It has none of the proposed advantages that DX12 is supposed to bring though. Not one.
@ Commentator: Well said.
As I noted above, I wouldn't call it a "MS lie". I don't believe we can reasonably judge DX12 based on it being patched into games. The real test will come when there's no DX11 option at all.
In fairness, the game wasn't built with DX12 in mind. I don't think Gears Ultimate was, either.
The first, true, DX12 release is Quantum Break. With some much riding on it, that could spell disaster, right? Well, I don't think so. In fact, I'm expecting to be thoroughly blown away by it!
Well said. I don't recall The Order seeing similar treatment, for example. So, hopefully, Quantum Break sets a new precedent on the site. ;)
OT: Developers will keep taking risks. Just maybe not inserting live-action into their games, again.
