You recognised this after just 10 minutes, it took me half an hour to get through the tutorial stuff......I smell hyperbole.
This games sits in my hall of shame, its one I have never played because I was heavily into my PC at the time this was originally released and I never got around to any of its re-releases.
Determined to see what all the fuss was about this time around, but I wonder how much it has aged and if I will enjoy it without the lense of nostalgia to colour my perception of it.
Its all about the games, unless MS suddenly start investing in interesting new games instead og HALO, Gears and Forza then I am not interested in the slightest.
The best game I have played on XB1 so far has been Ori, Quantum was good but with the exception of Scalebound and Cuphead they have shown that the have every intention of relying of the same handful of titles releasing at the same time of year, no amount of power will change that.
I love games more than any other form of entertainment, it depresses me so much that people can act so badly towards people who are making a piece of software in the hopes of entertaining people. I appreciate game devs and publishers a great deal, without them my hobby would be dead in the water. If I buy a game and dont like it then thats on me, I dont winge about the developer not implementing this mechanic or that storyline.
I have never known a more entitled demograph...
Played the demo for 2 hours before uninstalling it, that's all it took to convince me that this game is going to be fantastic and I didnt want to spoil it by playing more of the demo, I am going to wait for the full release. Looks like another great exclusive for Sony to me.
While it is a fact that if you account for inflation then games are cheaper, its disingenuous to suggest they should be more expensive. Those extreme prices you hear about back in the 80's to early 2000's were usually dictated by the medium you bought them on, namely expensive to manufacture carts.
The advent of disk based software has redused publishing costs massively and that cost is reduced further when you consider there are no manuals or big boxes in retail...
Dude, if you are going to shop at Game then you are asking for trouble, Shopto or Simply Games offer the newest titles at around the 40 quid mark and if you are lucky, you get them a day or two early.
BF4 was the only season pass I ever bought, I play so much BF that I considered it great value for money and felt the quality of the maps were fantastic.
Only if the base game launches with a lack of content would I feel cheated, but if it launches with plenty of maps I will have no complaints at all. I played the Alpha for 40-50 hours and loved it so i have very high hopes for this game.
It depends on their interptetation of greatest really, if we are talking influential then a list will look very different to a list made up of gameplay or story.
I have played games since the late 70s and so have a good grasp and appreciation of which games were influential but to my mind, these influential games rarely hold up. As time marches on games get better in every aspect and in my opinion it is only the nostalgia of the gamer that makes most older games enjoyable ...
I believe this is the first hike in quite a few years and yes, as a percentage it stings a little. My Virgin bill climbed by £4 a month so that is an annual increase of £48, not exactly insignificant I would suggest.
I wont be happy about it, but then, I bought my house for £60000 around 20 years ago, I imagine the people I eventually sell it too would love to get it for that price instead of the £125000 it is now valued at.
Prices go up whether you like it or not, 10 years from now you may well find yourself paying $30 or more for many services you currently use, its a fact of life sadly.
In the last 3 weeks I have recieved a letter from Virgin telling me the price of my Cable is rising by £3 a month, another letter informing me that my pension contibutions are set to rise again and also, my GamerTM magazine subscription is rising.....it must be that time of year.
My point is, prices rise with every other service provider so why should Sony (or MS when they rise prices) be singled out and vilified? This is capitalism, providers of goods or services are...
If its more of the same then I will be happy to wait for it to drop in price. Having played the remaster on XB1 along with the 2 and 3 recently I just feel like the gameplay has aged with this series.
The demo out of Gamescom was quite disappointing in my opinion, graphics were nice enough but gameplay and voice acting seemed very weak to me. Just my opinion of course, there are plenty out there who love Gears so if this is more of the same then they will be very please...
I dont think its a fair comparison given the deference in resources.
I have a good PC and play Elite quite often but like to game predominantly on PS4, Star Citizen is the first game I can remember in about 3 years that made me consider upgrading my PC.
Star Citizen might be the most impressive game I have seen in years, that demo blew my mind.
I like to game on my PS4 thanks, sat in my lounger in front of my 65" TV earning trophies is heaven to me.
No matter what your feelings on remasters/collections, you would have to admit there is a hell of a lot of game for the money here. My OCD 'collect everything on the map' would have me playing these for months.
Amongst my fave series of games so I am super excited for this. While I already have them on PC I love to game on console more, so this is a dream come true.
On top of all the fantastic new games coming out I get to enjoy remastered classics like Bioshock or Skyrim.....whats not to like?
I dont understand the attitude of some who complain about remasters or collections, if you dont want to play them dont buy them. They rarely impact on new releases, dev...
Anyone who honestly thinks these consoles will deliver native 4K at a decent frame rate is seriously kidding themselves.
The consoles are going to be great and will offer a fantastic upgrade on current consoles, but never in a million years will Scorpio deliver the kind of results a high end PC can manage. As others have pointed out, the latest and greatest cards knock out around 10Tflps and thats before you consider what the processer adds to that output.
Love inclusions like this, especially excited for this one as a fan of the Bioshock series. I recall really enjoying the one you unlock for beating God of War 3, really interesting to see behind the scenes and it really makes you appreciate what goes into making a game.
