What do you expect? Companies to ignore their low sales and throw good money after bad? If Microsoft hadn't reversed some of their more controversial decisions for the Xbox One, they would have been dead in the water. As it is, it was a major setback that arguably they're still recovering from. If people (collectively) wanted the Xbox One to be the "ultimate entertainment hub" their sales numbers *would* have been hot, however Microsoft saw that they needed a new focus to sa...
"How appropriate! You fight like a cow!"
What are you talking about? The last Sony game released on PS2 came out March 8, 2011. MLB 11:The Show. That's four and a half years after the PS3 release.
I don't think it's that simple. He had some valid points, and in this day and age of high profile kickstarters, if something like this would turn out to be a dud, it could set back the crowd funding model significantly.
@Tibbers: Yeah... but that's like buying Call of Duty for the campaign. I feel like it would be a bit of a waste. Maybe once I see some reviews and have a sense of how fully fleshed out it is, it will be different.
I'm still not a big fan of MMOs, but I loved Wing Commander / Privateer / Freelancer. I'm a little torn with this one.
@Malphite: Man, are you in for a treat. I still remember playing them for the first time, and I hope you get the same enjoyment out of them. I usually go back and play through the trilogy every once in a while, and I've been saving my next replay for the release of the collection. From the footage I've seen it's going to be amazing.
The sad part is that some people are legitimately asking that question in the form of "concern trolling", saying it "looks boring" or has "nothing to do" before the game is even available to play. I like to compare it to Minecraft.
What do you actually do in Minecraft? You build things.
What do you actually do in No Man's Sky? You explore.
Otherwise both have combat, both have crafting, both have increasin...
Why would that be any different?
@TwoForce: It pretty much was the beta.
Well, it's less than 5 months away if that helps. :)
I've been fascinated by this oddball game since the first time I saw it.
Hahaha. I was thinking the same things. Even the PC version wasn't exactly flawless, but the console versions were a shambles for a long time and patched up to 'somewhat playable' over time. I remember the PS3 version was so bad at one point, I had to save and restart the game every 30 mins to prevent it from becoming a slide show. Yet I still plowed through them, hundreds of hours worth on each.
That must make it hard to hold the controller!
And PC. But you're right that it's a console exclusive.
@Imalwaysright: 8.5 million? Across five platforms maybe.
Or just buy the superior PC version in the spring.
Awesome pics. Disgusting, but awesome. :)
The DC version made some vast improvements to the boss fights, improving an already great game. I had been really apprehensive about an additional game in the series, but HR really delivered. I can't wait to see what DXMD brings to the table.
