Agreed. And sites that write articles like this for clicks have a cabal of users who make sure that all of their clickbaity articles get approved. Its pointless flamewar fodder that we keep falling for as a culture. Console rivalry is pointless.
Based on their most recent news bit on the NMS site, 13. Which is crazy small for a game of this scale.
Don't be that guy.
Funny thing about hype. Sometimes people get excited about something because it's exciting.
The response on the forums says differently. Apparently 7.1/10 is now a bad game, and people who haven't even played the game are taking it upon themselves to tell the world about how upset we all are about it.
Meanwhile I'm still greatly enjoying it even though I shouldn't be, or so the internet keeps telling me.
I know I did.
Wait a minute... the game is good. I like the game quite a bit.
...but Fox News also says it's good, meaning that it must be a lie.
...but I like the game, and liking the game means Fox news is right.
*falls to the ground foaming at the mouth*
Actually playing the game makes it seem like it's good or something. I'm enjoying the hell out of it.
P.S. Goddamn do I miss Wing Commander.
Oh no. A company that doesn't want videos of their games leaked in advance. So unheard of.
Not sure what you mean by the "ghost busters fiasco" but I'm going to assume you didn't like it, and that insults you somehow.
To be on the level of Konami, you'd have to have people basically kept prisoner in their office and extorted. Delaying people a couple days from posting video of their game that wasn't even out yet? Not even close.
I don't think it deserved a 6 at all. I think about games like Kane and Lynch or Army of Two that scored higher but were absolutely worse than this game. It might not be for everyone, but if you didn't like space flight sims or survival games, what were you expecting?
I'd probably give the game at least a 7.5, and that number will likely rise as I get further into the story and they continue to add content. I know over 400 words in alien languages (mostly Gek), ...
I hadn't upgraded my ship for battle either, until I jumped into the middle of a massive battle between two fleets. It was a rough corpse run, let me tell you. :)
Yesterday I went to three planets to gather the resources for a warp drive upgrade. One was a nightmarish hellscape of extreme heat and storms, crawling with aggressive monsters out of a Cronenberg movie (named it Crematoria), and the other was a rocky world with large bodies of water, devoid of any surface life. Likely that was due to the Sentinels being set to High Security, which prompted them to attack me on sight and instantly escalate to elite combat mechs if you didn't eliminate th...
I wish more walking simulators had guns. And jetpacks. And spaceships! In fact, screw walking.
The more free content, the less likely someone will be to sell their copy of the game. It keeps it fresh for players, meaning that they don't lose revenue on used sales. Plus, they're a small team that loves working on their game, so its easy to justify continued support when they don't have to have hundreds of people on staff to keep working on it. They're working on more of the existing content plus new features like larger freighter ships with additional cargo space, and th...
@Aenea: The thing that got me was when I looked up in the sky and saw two planets, and on one of them was a waypoint I'd just been to, waaaaaaay in the distance. :)
I'm liking the game too, but Halo's still good. It's okay to like both. :)
That is not even remotely the case.
I actually spent my first two days without even leaving the starting system, just building up my ship and multi-tool. I wasn't sure there was enough of a gameplay loop when I first heard about the game, but after seeing the early streams I was hooked. The day 1 patch actually made it even better than I thought it would be, and they're saying that instead of paid DLC they'll be adding in new content and features via patch all the time. So far I'm really enjoying it.
Wow. Unacceptable.
Well said.
