You didn't even read the article. I guess ignorance is bliss eh? They aren't stating the worldwide sales of the Switch are comparable to what the PS2 only sold in Japan they're saying that in Japan only the sales are comparable to what the PS2 did in it's first year only. I agree with you that there are many other factors to consider other than just one region but they're looking at one region for both consoles so your entire argument about the fact the Switch launched glo...
You do know the public alpha just got released right? Which was the biggest hurdle in the games development. They are now going to have quarterly releases of content and the base content of the game is now present. It is no longer a tech demo like it has been for the last couple of years. It's finally starting to take form.
This is so wierd. Now that the public alpha is out for everyone to play it seems all the haters that claim this is vaporware aren't commenting on this article? Hmmm...

@FreddyFazbear
Do you not realize that these multiplayer focused games cost less than a game with a full fledged single player campaign? You keep saying that if people payed a full $60 for a game they should get a single player campaign out of it, well guess what?! Overwatch launched at $40 bub. And trying to lump PUBG in with other multiplayer shooters is just ignorant and discounts all of your credibility. There are lots shooters out there but many of them are extremely ...
That would actually be pretty amazing. You could have random Zerg just running around to cause problems too.
I really freaking hope this has something to do with Starcraft. I know I'll always love RTS style StarCraft games more than an FPS but the universe of Starcraft is just so perfect for it. It would be awesome to run around and drive vehicles from the game and such. Please Blizzard, give us something like battlefront but in the StarCraft universe. It would be amazing.
Amen....
As someone who has not backed this game in any way financially I'm grateful to those who did so that something this amazing can at least be attempted. I don;t see why every gamer that loves space and exploration games isn't rooting for this game to succeed. Why on earth wouldn't everyone want this game to become a reality? I get that at this point it still seems like a dream that may never completely materialize but I have wat...
Why on earth would you say you are never buying a game that's not even out yet? What if it eventually comes out years down the road and its amazing? I'll bet your opinion on "never buying" the game would change. What an ignorant statement...
Which is why no game developer has ever had the balls to try something like this...
"without a coherent concrete result"... What do you call the public Alpha 3.0 that is currently under testing and can be seen all across youtube for the last few weeks? The Alpha that is feature locked and working closely to becoming an open public Alpha for all backers? The very same Alpha that has at least 70% of the games plethora of features included and playable? That seems pretty concrete to me. It's always funny to me that people claim to know how to make ...
I wonder if they knew how long such a massive undertaking would take. My guess is they didn't. It's not dishonest to tell people that you're going to make something that has never been done before and do your best to do so in a timely manner only to find out that it's going to take a lot longer than you thought. I'm sure they didn't want to spend this long getting the ground work for the game done but the reality is it took them a very long time but they are now in a p...
@Ikenda you need to do your homework better than. They tell you exactly what you're getting currently with your $35 and it's not hard to do a little research to figure out where the game is currently. That's why I have yet to give any money to them and jump in. However, In about a month the live Alpha 3.0 is likely to launch and I can almost guarantee that you won't regret your purchase after that. They are completely transparent about what they are doing and how they are goin...
This guy obviously has no idea how a business works. Seems to think if you take all your ship designers and throw them at planetary tech somehow they're going to speed up the development...
What he fails to realize is that although they asked people to donate money, they were completely honest about what they were donating for. Chris Roberts presented an overly ambitious idea and asked people if they were willing to support the production of such a game. Based on the games extremely high amount of funding I think it's fairly obvious that there was a resounding amount of people that wanted to back such a project. They knew from the start they were helping fund the most ambiti...
Seriously, this guy thinks they can just take all their ship designers and throw them at some other job that's likely out of their scope will somehow make the game come out faster? The ignorance is strong with this one.
@Gh05t you do realize that the team making the ships is not the same team that is making the planetary tech and server software that makes this game possible right? They simply use their people where they can at a time that makes sense. You can't just take a bunch of artists that create ships and tell them to go design all of the technological hurdles that are holding back the game from release. If you're paying these people to work for you and they have nothing better to do why not p...
If you prefer not "baking" a game and buying less ambitious games that come much quicker than why do you care that other people like supporting ambition and waiting for a phenomenal end product? That's fine if you don't want to support it, but why can't others? Seriously, these comparisons to Horizon are ignorant and childish. These games are nothing alike in scope, funding, company structure, genre, or anything else that could make them even remotely comparable. You can...
What you fail to realize is that the scope of the game changed, based on their overwhelming amount of funding and the feedback from their backers. When they received loads more funding than they anticipated they actually contacted their backers and asked if they were ok with making a game that was much more ambitious with a much longer develpoment window and the backers said that that's what they wanted. They have been transparent all along the way and if you've paid attention to thei...
I really thought this game had up and disappeared and I would lose the money I had backed it with. These last few showings of gameplay have really given me some hope of things to come and that the game will actually release. This interview is actually very insightful and gave a lot of details that haven't been talked about in the Kickstarter. Thanks for posting this article!
