I don't think you really understand how game development works... The amount of resources needed to port a game from the Wii U is nothing compared to what it takes to create a new game. We have no idea how close some of these games like Metroid are from being finished and the few Wii U ports that Nintendo is putting out every year is most definitely not slowing that down in any way shape or form. Especially because most of these ports are handled by different development teams tota...
Couldn't agree more with this. The Switch offers a new way to play these games (portably) as well as games that never saw a huge audience on Wii U, most of which have extra content. These games have every reason to be ported, especially games like Dragon Ball Fighter Z and Wolfenstein 2 which came within the last year. These are no longer "new" but they are certainly not "old".
@SuperSonic91
Lol, am I the only one who finds it hilariously ironic that you used the made up word dumbification...
Yeah, why is Nintendo so less creative than their competitors. Why aren't they contributing to the progress of society like every other form of entertainment is doing...

What on Earth are you smoking? Is it even legal?
You should study how licensing works...
@gangsta_red
What?
@gangsta_red
You really think Nintendo's first forray into 3D with pretty much all of it's franchises except Metroid don't pack the punch that the NES and SNES mini did? Every Nintendo IP that came out on the N64 is regarded as one of the best if not the best rendition of that IP ever. Not sure why it lacks any punch.
@deafdani
I guess I forgot about Conker and Banjo. In fact Diddy is pretty much the only Nintendo IP in it so maybe it was more of letting Rare put a Nintendo character into a Rare game and not Rare producing a Nintendo game with some of their characters in it. However, the Diddy Kong racing remake on the DS came out after Rare had been bought by Microsoft so I think there's still a possibility that Nintendo has the ability to do so.
The have kept them in production. Still not enough to meet demand but they've been pumping them ever since launch. I'm starting to see them in stores again so I think they're slowly catching up.
While I agree with the other comments that there are plenty of alternatives I totally agree that I would love a Gameboy Classic and honestly think it's likely to happen one of these days.
This is exactly what people don't understand. The "Virtual Console" name may go away but Nintendo is obviously trying to tie their virtual games to their online service to make it more enticing. It's not like Nintendo is straight up never going to release their classic games on the Switch.
"What" is a question that countries that speak english use to express dumbfoundment at a stupid statement.
The lack of Rare games would definitely be an unfortunate exclusion, however, Donkey Kong 64 and Diddy Kong racing would definitely be included. They were developed by Rare but they are Nintendo's IPs. Nintendo released Donkey Kong 64 on the Wii U virtual console about a year and a half ago so there's really no reason these wouldn't be included.
Yeah, Super Mario 64, Ocarina of time, and Mario Kart 64 definitely don't still have tons of people who play them and proclaim them as some of the best games of all time. Lol, the N64 has about 10 games that are all time greats that have held up extremely well over the years.
Yes please!!!
Hopefully some good grammar...
Lol, I don't even know where to start in trying to correct this...
This one is going to be very similar to the WiiU one. Don't get me wrong they made massive improvements throughout the 3ds monster Hunters leading up to this game that I think pushed the series forward in a lot of great ways but at it's core it's the same. World changed a lot and made the series more accessible but the lack of fighting styles introduced in Generations was odd to me so this one may have more variety on that basis alone.
So glad to see people reviewing this game now that it's finally done. It was a very long time coming but I've come back to this game a number of times through it's early access over the last couple of years and gotten every nickle and dime I paid for it. The gameplay is fun, the survival can be extremely tough on the higher settings, the multiplayer is a blast and supports up to 8 people, and the story is surprisingly good and well told in a very unique way for a low cost indie ga...
People seem to fail to realize that these ports in no way hamper the production of Nintendo's new games...
