Do people think that if they don't get a pre-order then it's over because Sony is just going to completely stop production of the PS5 or something?
I was really hoping for a Collector's edition to go alongside my PS3 special edition.

It's funny that every console generation release, people expect easy access stock of 50 million units and everyone gets one launch day. It's NEVER been that way. It's always been chaotic, limited inventory and shortages for the first 6 months or so. Although, the bot problems of today just exacerbate it. Chances are that you're not getting one on release day, just make peace with that fact and should you score one, count yourself lucky.
It honestly does not look like a game that should cripple a 3080.

eBay is part of the problem. obvious resellers with this many stock needs to be banned from eBay but of course, they won't do anything about it because they get a cut. They're enablers for these shady ass tactics.

Wasn't Xbox relying on Halo as a its huge mega release game? And isn't Series X's whole multi-generational backwards compatibility thing being championed as something ground breaking? The difference here is that Sony is BUILDING on it's success and going further beyond what has been capable of. Xbox is relying on people still having old 360 and XB1 discs.

$10 increase is to be expected. Games now a days take years to make and are nearing cinema level quality. This is also why I still prefer physical copies. I can still rent and buy used.
I will fight you all to the death for the pre-order.

I'm glad they're putting the FANTASY back in Final Fantasy.
I still love physical and I love steel books but honestly, 90%+ of my games collection across all platforms are digital. It's become inevitable at this point. I don't think the PS6 will even have a CD slot anymore.
I have no idea how they're planning on making money by making all of these games for free. Games pass can only go so far and they've already admitted that it doesn't make them that much money. If this doesn't work out, the quality of the games are just going to drop or they'll have to keep pumping in money to float it which even for a multi-billion dollar studio, that won't last very long when investors start asking questions as to why.
