Yep. Still love him though.
Yeah, we should definitely have the right to know who in the industry was part of this trip.
In fact, I think I recall reading something about a law that would possibly be enforced in America that would obligate people by law to disclose if they were given free product, goods or incentive before doing a review of any sorts.
I don't care what the background or history of a game is, flying 10 people (at least that's probably about how many would go) to Italy is VERY expensive and frivolous.
Also, it's obvious they're doing this to get better review scores out of people.
"Select number of journalists" = "Select number of journalists most likely to rate the game higher if we do cool stuff for them"
A publisher wouldn't spend 15,000 dollars (assuming it's 10 ...
"were?"
I hope it doesn't die off or get axed, because I swear that SW: BF3 is what the fans want, not more Mercenaries or new IPs right now.
Give us our next-gen sequel, make some bookoo cash, and use that cash to go on and make your new IP.
I love how they go on and on about ambient occlusion, but then go to say:
1) It's not real-time
2) It's baked in using AutoDesk SoftImage
Makes me glad for games like Crysis and Uncharted 2 that perform it in real-time. I would rather have more natural-looking real-time effects and sacrifice some geometry here and there and maybe a texture or two way off in the distance. Once you see how nice real-time Screen Space Ambient Occlusion is, you won't want any baked...
Uncharted deserves every sale it gets. I'm glad the price of the PS3 dropped when it did, because now people can get in on the free online multiplayer in U2 and all the other great games!
Why in the HELL is Splinter Cell being compared to Uncharted?
Two games that are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Seriously, come on.
I can understand a legitimate comparison to drive up some debate, but this is about as far from legitimate as it gets.
I'll have to check this game out, for sure.
Of course with the exception of most Sony exclusive titles, where the game is built around story first.
I don't see anything on the page, or it's just taking forever and a day to load.
Stupid tiny pictures....give us 1080p or give us death!
Animation blending ala Uncharted
Wrong.
I'm pretty sure I saw some screens like this a while ago, using CryEngine 2. It was made to look like Blade Runner.

lol the motion blur in Forza totally messes up the track textures. Look how chopped up they are!
Also, the anti-aliasing, lighting, car models are superior in GT5p.
Well of course there's similarities, lol. Naughty Dog already mentioned that was how they were doing things when they first started working with Nolan North.
Holy cow, 80k polys per character? That is more than 2 times the max poly count per character of the first game. Now THAT's what I call improvement!
=)
