I guarantee you that whatever that deal was....it was temporary, open box, recertified, or a Black Friday deal.
You can pick up a 32" 720p TV (which is just as large or larger than most CRTs people have already) for around 600 now, down from at least 800 to a thousand from a year ago.
Blu-ray is going to be fine. I always knew this. It is the successor to DVD.
Prices on HDTVs are dropping very quickly (you don't need a huge one to enjoy Blu-ray...720p is just fine), and Blu-ray players are now close to the 200 dollar price point.
A more noticeable shift towards Blu-ray is going to continue to happen now that prices are becoming semi-affordable to borderline acceptable, on the TVs and the players.
Interesting to see you make a comment like that, when in fact the 360 looks to be rendering at a higher rez, but has shadowing "issues" at the same time.
Far Cry 2 doesn't have "levels".
It's an open world. What, you don't like the design of the world?
lol picky much?
360 version has some serious issues with shadowing, the PS3 just plain renders the shadows more smoothly.
Although it does look like the 360 renders it at a slightly higher rez.
It's amazing how much better the Dunia engine looks and runs on PC.
I mean....the console versions look ok but DAMN! The effects on PC are just mind-blowing!
Come on people...give R2 a chance before reading up on crap like this.
Oops! Good job at spelling 'Shaun' wrong Bloodmask.
My Circuit City has 20 and 50 dollar PSN cards as of last week.
LoL
Get those damned flowers off the desk. You're not a secretary.
Maybe if you use a QUALITY screwdriver i.e. one that does NOT originate from the dollar store...then you shouldn't have any stripping problems at all.
And besides....it's not that hard to find a replacement screw anyways.
Lazy bastard.
If you have a PS3, whatever resolution you have your PS3 set to output to....that's what you'll watch blu-rays at.
A firmware update a long while back allows the PS3 to display Blu-rays in 720p.
Actually, that is how it works.
Bullsh*t FirstKnight.
Keep up your day job, we don't expect any less from you.
Jenzo, you fail to grasp the central idea that is being batted around here.
People want consistency not across ALL publications, but across all media published by any given publication.
If a particular site consistently does a certain thing a certain way, and judges a certain aspect of a game resulting in this particular score, then they need to do that for every game they review, or they will be called out for it.
People do appreciate some form of integ...
Go jump off a bridge Shredder.
There's nothing wrong with copy-pasting wikipedia =P
