Illuminati in Zelda games sounds like a really stretchy headcanon IMO. Past Zelda games have been thematically rich and very subtextual in the best cases like Majora's Mask and even OoT to some extent, so I was rather dissapointed at how lazy the story was in ALBW.
It's a fantastic game but I agree with the headline. I don't understand people saying "this is the best Zelda game in 10 years!!" at all. Skyward Sword felt more special than this somehow to me.
One very big flaw that makes me say "Nuh-uh" for keeping the ALBW formula for the Wii U Zelda or even the next handheld one is that too many side-quests result in "more rupees, yay" and dying in ALBW is so hard that I found myself renting everyth...
There's so many games that are art. Majora's Mask, ICO, Shadow of The Colossus etc.
Those are all thematically rich and subtextually rich experiences that are not even escapism. They say something about the subject they talk about whether it's about life or death or relationships. It's all very subtle and just those 3 examples prove there's already art in the industry and much more to come.
Sonic Team could learn from this.
"Cloud-based"... well too bad, MS/Lionhead, now you have me completely disinterested.
Sonic Team needs better directors and developera in general. Who the hell thought removing 100 coins = 1up was a great idea anyway? why do every second sonic game have so much awful experimentation!?
My question is: Can they ever make the account not-tied-to-console with a simple update in the future? I really hope so because I'd like some insurance if my 3DS suddently dies and I lose all my digital content.
I'm dissapointed Miiverse is HTML based and sluggish, but hey, it's Miiverse and I finally have a username rather than a faceless 12-digit code to represent my 3DS ID.
And holy hell it's nice to feel that there are so many other 3DS users now that we can share images, discussions and screenshots. It's awesome!
Yes, let's suddently applaud EA for being what they've always been, even in the times we hated them.
EA's problem is exactly that they have a policy to strive to be inclusive and that is forced upon their developers.
Bioware tried to be as inclusive as possible with both DA2 and Mass Effect 3 but that meant spending more of their budget on making something that was more accessible for everybody, hence a generic "save earth" plot, which w...
Worst disservice ever to that game. It's actually a very great take on a post-apocalyptic world and in gaming its setting is rather original.
Also I have to be honest and say the writing is way better in TLoU. Walking dead showcases a lot of great subtext and themes but often it's not as subtle as it is in TLoU, and the fact that TWD is more centered around choices also makes you more immersed as a player.
Yes. It's a typical ND game in a coupe of ways. It's too linear to be interesting the second time, but like a good movie it is something you'd want to re-experience at some point.
OMFG Stop these lame articles xD
I obviously love TLoU and I think it's the best videogame story of 2013... but "THE BEST STORY OF ALL TIME?" c'mon idiots. Don't insult people who're actually into fiction.
Count AC4 out. People are already playing that in the millions on PS3 and Xbox 360 and their next gen counterparts to be quite frank.
There's a striking difference between getting solid games and groundbreaking games. Now I'm not gonna imply the next-gen hardwares (technically) have lineups of innovative upon innovative games, because there are many TPS or Uncharted or Borderlands-y rehashes but the best thing the Wii U has got is SM3DW and nothing currently on the ho...
The worst thing is he completely underestimates the average gamer when he keeps pulling punches towards MS and Sony like that, which he's been doing for years now.
His philosophy is completely contradictory. "You need games, hardware is mostly irrelevant"... well, DUH Nintendo, where the hell ARE your quality gaming products for Wii U then? We don't even have them on the horizon yet. A small bunch yes, but we don't have that thing that makes the system a...
IMO it doesn't even come close to OoT or Majora's Mask or even Wind Waker because I think there needs to be just a bit of linearity (although it's too linear with the dungeon order in said games) but there's not even a shadow of doubt that it kicks ass on the DS Zelda games.
Having almost finished it, I definitely love it, but 10/10? I don't really agree. It's a great game but I'm just not really impressed.
One of the more embarrassing moments was when Joel was reading the screen prompt to present the rappers and then stopped halfway because "we just said this minutes ago!". Everything felt so disorganized but instead of taking it like a man he felt like mocking it making it even more awkward.
That was a bad piece of sarcasm though.
I can't believe it was actually worse than the VGAs.
Reduculous I say as wel.
