I can't believe 6 people actually liked a comment that doesn't make sense. If you syopped reading at thr thumbnail, then you didn't even get to read.
Not forgettable, but fucking awful, and to people saying otherwise: you're free to like shit, but it doesn't change the fact that it is shit.
...and yeah, I AM talking about Beyond's narrative here as well, which however you look at it is handled by a hack and not a guy with talent.
This might be the reason why I don't actually mind Nintendo living in their so-called "bubble".
Sometimes taking the safer and slower approach to change is better, because we're seeing signs of Nintendo trying to change their franchises up a bit right now but they don't just follow the trend like most other devs... Look what happened to Sonic for example.
It's actually something I never really though about before, but it's true. I respect Zelda as a franchise because it's been focused with fair development cycles and consistently high-quality games.
The CDi games don't count. Those aren't Nintendo-made.
I think I'd prefer something darker but anything they've done in the past should be good. The only thing I dislike about Skyward Sword's arstyle though, is the actual character-designs which are a bit... bare? Also bosses like the Tentalus Queen or whatever it was called looks like it belongs in a Pixar film and not Zelda. OUT WITH THAT!
New IPs. This gen has some of the most forgettable IPs in hindsight like Uncharted (story-wise), InFamous (forgettable since 2), Gears of War had its run, Mass Effect died with 3 etc.
Of course we can have both but if this was an ultimatum with no middle-way there's no way in hell I'd want to endure another 5 years of the same sequel-y franchises just because they're "mainstream" now.
My patience has run out for Ace Attorney. It's a Shu Takumi game or a no-buy because the new writer is definitely not as good.
BI sucks though, so Disagree to you.
Ken Levine is a dumbass, but his taste in games is pretty decent at least.
I don't think I'll ever touch another game under his direction because Bioshock Infinite suuuucks.
Awful comparison. Halo 4 is a late 360 entry when the devs knew how to utilize its hardware properly. Shadow Fall is a launch-game FFS.
"like Borderlands herp herp"
My problem with 3 was that on one hand the combat was just as over-the-top but then the story tried to adress that which it just didn't need to. It's like you shoot 1000s of men, then a cutscene triggers and Sully says "Drake ye'r gettin' reckless!" but then the next level starts and you continue to kill everyone you see as soon as combat starts. Then Elena says the same thing "Why are you in for this thrill Drake?" but then he continues onward anyway.
Uncharted by definition is just a linear blockbuster-rollercoaster with pseudo-linear puzzles and some decent level-design.
What sells the franchise are its set-piece moments and quite frankly I kinda fear that trend has run out of steam by the time it arrives on PS4.
So it definitely needs to change, but I'm just thinking maybe it won't even feel like an Uncharted game then?
@Blade1587
I wouldn't say she lost her charm with that game, but she had a far less important role than in Wind Waker which came out just before it and I guess Skyward Sword as well.
And she didn't really emote, but that's because she was a strong-willed and experienced princess of the land. It made sense, but I understand why you didn't like her still. She was by no means a character to write home about and considering she's the name of the game, ...
"Jodie's Story" LMAO.
Worst list I've ever seen. Period.
Dead article.
The first sentence is a lie. He's close to being as much of a hack as Mac Walters from Bioware.
Hahah, Sonic is fucking atrocious-looking in real life..
Great to hear. At least we know they didn't rush the writing like Bioware Edmonton did with ME3. The script had to be revised as late as november 2011 and acting schedules were postponed from august to november and the game shipped 4 months later.
We don't even have a solid release date for DA:I yet and they already got the story in the safe-zone. Good news indeed!
I think I can almost say I've seen tech-demos with better stories than Beyond Two Souls.
