I'm anxious as well. Bigger rarely proves to be better in the end because it detracts the focus more often than not and I loved the focused scale of Witcher 2... I hope we get something amazing still, but...
You know, I hate to be the party pooper but I'm actually afraid I'm not getting the follow-up to TW2 I have been anticipating. I don't honestly care if they made all regions have story-content and side-quests as long as the main plot and main story is presented and executed with style. I don't want a Skyrim-ish bleak plot where the main quest is just a single drop of water in an entire ocean.
I mean, considering they used to always have amazing lineups I've had this feeling there must be something they're planning to share or that they simply rushed the Wii U out the door so it could arrive the year before all eyes were on the next power-house consoles. Their lineup seems bleaker than usual.
If a game ships with a broken story that is canon, then the ship has sailed... don't write a full effin' book about it and expect to sell it *facepalm*. We all hate ME3's ending unless we're delusional or ignorant but past is past. Bioware know they screwed up, and are moving onwards. I can't believe there's still so many who hasn't done that as well.
I'm rather thinking a remodel of Wii U or 3DS. I really hope Wii U gets a better gamepad or console with more than only 32gb.
IMO it looks more like Outlast than Amnesia so far, for the sole reason that it has so many scripted and choreographed cutscenes where hands flap around in front of the FPS-view. I hate that... that and QTE's are the worst thing that ever happened to games.
I'll laugh so mega-hard if this game is a piece of trash when it comes out! I'll probably laugh till I choke and die >:D
I saw this gameplay hands-on on IGN this morning and I was both impressed but anxious at the same time. On one hand it has immersive graphics and spectacular lighting IMO, the gameplay seems to have a good grounding to it but... here's the big 'BUT'. Tons of choregraphed and scripted FPS-view cutscenes where the playable characters hands flap around in front of the screen, moves her head according to animation and no control whatsoever.
It's gonna be a mixed b...
For a fan-made thing it is impressive... as a showcase of Next-Gen potential... no. IMHO it still just looks like an up-res'd PS3 game with slightly higher poly-count, draw-distance and lighting took the next step as well.. but it's just not an impressive leap.
Except that's not true. PS3 sold around 17.000 less this week than PS4. What are you talking about??

What you meant: PS3 vs. One
What you wrote: "I know this website is not reliable, but it would be sad if the PS3 had sold more units than the PS4"
Yeah, right... Reading comprehension issues. So not true.
Honestly I rarely dig 3rd party games in general. There are exceptions like Bioware titles and The Witcher franchise etc. but for me all I mostly play are the first party games on consoles. I own almost nothing but Nintendo-in-house-made games on my Wii and I plan on doing the same with Wii U when I buy one eventually.
Nintendo should always prioritize to have their internal lineup be good. But if they can secure some external teams as first-party developers along the way, th...
Journalism like, who? IGN, Geoff Keighley? They're all on the big publishers' and advertisement medias payroll. They wont bother showing diversity when one genre makes all the money.
Okay this is my opinion and I'm saying this because you have to listen to it :-P
1) Mario Galaxy and SMG2 are much better than SM3DW (as single-player titles)
2) Wii had two damn good Zelda titles. Wii U has yet to give us one which may or may not be better than past games. (Wind Waker doesn't count IMO)
3) Wii had Wii Sports, was way cheaper and at the time the motion control was pretty neat. Wii U doesn't really impress with any...
Don't you EVER compare Knack to those games. It feels like a Crash-Bandicoot sorta game but it's awfully monotonous and dragged out, boring and just poorly designed from a game-design standpoint.
To anyone who hasn't played it yet. You DON'T have to, in fact, avoid it at all costs. I'm dead serious.
Next Gen has dissapointed me so far. The leap is just not big enough yet.
And the fact that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is an ass game.
In hindsight maybe I should've read about the news a bit more before posting because I think the 31 disagrees on my comment speaks volumes of my ignorance. I didn't know they had announced a new cloud-based backwards compatible program before posting it.
Nevertheless they have done a lot of secret-trolling in the past and I do still sense a bit of a 'stab' towards MS with this quote from the title.
It's true. Screw Valve for giving me this syndrome with their holiday sales on steam :3
Whenever I see those "You vs. Us" arguments start I just know it's better to lean back and not participate. It's walls talking to other walls.
In fact, I think the big production values rather seem to be quite a detractor already.. don't get me wrong, the graphics and atmosphere in this game are both amazing but it's also full of these motion-capture-ish FPS-view cutscenes that really seem to take away the controls and for me it kills the immersion or makes it kinda corny.
I'd prefer it to be more... gamey, somehow. I don't want all those stupid cutscenes.
