More indie love.
It should not have carried on the name Wii at all. The Wii part is why people think its still the old console.
Nintendo should have made a new name for this one like they usually.
NES, Super, 64, Gamcecube, Wii...and Wii. It just didn't follow suit.
This isn't the Wii, so they shouldn't have kept the Wii name.
The Wii U CPU and GPU are custom built for the console. You can't go buy those in stores and you can't put them in a PC. No aspect of it resembles PC
The energy consumption of the Wii U is less than 1/5 that of the PS3/360. I can only imagine what the it will be like with the other two next gen consoles.
You can't get what the Wii U hardware offers from a PC.
As far as your out of context interpretation of affordable goes, you are...
No, on that note, I will say they are the only ones who remember what home console aren't. They aren't PCs. They don't use standard PC parts. They arne't all about specs.
They are about delivering affordable gaming on a stable platform to a large mass of people.
Yep, the writer has to make sure keep a detraction statement at the top. I wish we could get news that is just purely informative for one without constant reiteration of the same well known issues.
Not really. Nintendo haters just want it to be huge.
The only time I ever see people praise EA is when they direct negativity towards Nintendo.
@deadfani, I meant to say announaced. The Wii U was announced in 2011.
You have never seen me says that once.
I'm one of the people who would tell the people who were saying "wait until xxxxx? to stop wasting their times, because there have already been enough good games announced already to ensure the consoles future even without banking on possibilities and they were talking to Nintendo haters/trolls.
I don't know who these hypocrites you speak of are but I am not one of them. I have been saying the exact same thi...
Consumers don't watch e3. Most don't even know it exist. e3 is for extreme gamers. Anyone who knows about e3 also knows about Nintendo directs as well, so Nintendo is making a smart choice.
This was already known but so many people were spreading misinformation that Nintendo wasn't going to be at e3 at all.
Four year, as Nintendo releases a console every 5, so we should exepct Nintendo's next console in 2017.
or you there is a third option you left out. They just don't want to make games for Nintendo to EA's butt-hurt.
EA is their primary publisher and they can't go against what EA wants. EA clearly has it in for Nintendo.
I figured the rest would be common sense, but apparently, not around these parts.
No, its not. It never is. "This is just EA". You can stick the words in quotation up whenever something involving them or one of their subsidiaries pop up and you will have the opinion of the majority of Wii U owners. There is no love lost, for there would have to be some to begin with.
No Wii U owner expects anything from EA or their affiliates. We all know they are bitter about Nintendo not bending over for them. They made that clear before launch when they announ...
You believe this? The Frostbite engine, 2 or 3, is not doing anywhere near as much as the Crytek engine 3 and that runs on the Wii U with no issues. Heck, even UE4 can run on the Wii U to some degree. The devs said it.
The reason it doesn't run on the Wii U is because they didn't make it run on the Wii U. If they stopped after a few test then that means they didn't try to optimize, debug, or recode anything. You can't put a program on a completely different ...
It was already confirmed running perfectly on the Wii U by Crytek long ago.
Its the most negative and insulting way to look at it.
Nintendo's target has always been "everyone" but people refused to validate their success over others from recent years, writing off the entirety of Nintendo's customers as "newfound", moms, grandpas and children. That it where this whole casual thing originated. It was basically a huge industry wide concession of moving the goal post.
Devs have changed graphical settings from ...
You must not have played Pikmin. So many of the objects you find in that game are photorealistic.
Journey and L.A. Noire, on the other hand, were no graphical feats.
They've already shown an actual product.
And of course you have to adblib PSN and XBL into the conversion even though they are not part of this discussion.
The resolution and fps thing are cannot be true, because frame rate is not set in stone nor is resolution.
What resolution you can get and what frame rate you can get depends on how much of your resource pool is in use.
They can make a game at 2160p and 500 FPS is they wanted but it would be an extremely small scale, simplistic game. Its all a matter of how they choose to design it.
Just as how Kamiya said that the reason Wonderful 101 is not...
"Lower", not slower. Slower is misleading as the actual performance of the Wii U CPU is not that much different than that of the 360's even though it uses 1/3 the voltage.
The guy who actually hacked the console and told people the clocks that you and everyone else uses said this. Its strange how people remember the numbers but not the details that came with them.
