Playing games from a cloud service does not make the "console" backwards compatible. You can play PS3 games on a Wii or Xbox1 using a cloud because the server does all of the processing.

The only devs who have said the Wii U isn't next gen are the one who never really supported Nintendo begin with or have something against them. Bias runs heavy in gaming journalism these days. The problem is and always has been hat people will flock to news like this and give the writers hits(=money) where they just completely ignore news that isn't bad.

You do know that x86 is even older than PPC? PPC is better desinged and more efficient. PPC simply lacks "BRUTE FORCE" capabilities do to its low clock.
The Wii U CPU is 6 stage and the Xbox1/PS4 CPUs are 20+ stage CPUs. That means that it takes them over 3 times as long to complete an instruction as its takes the Wii U CPU. On top of that, the Wii U CPU takes up 4 sends 2 instructions for every 1hertz for each CPU core.
