Failure = no profit.
The GC made a profit and the Wii U will eventually make a profit.
From the beginning losses to now the PS3, on the other hand, still hasn't made an overall profit. I believe the Xbox has been breaking even overall but that its lost a little on the manufacturing side(which is why Microsoft was looking to sell off the Xbox division not to long ago.)
Some fanboys have a twisted view of what failure and success is.
The last time someone tried to sue Nintendo for something like this Nintendo counter sued them and selling off all of their assets only made a down payment to Nintendo.
Funny that people would and still do say the exact opposite when someone makes these types of comments about Nintendo on here(NFS Most Wanted, Darth Mal game, Skylanders etc).
Apparently Nintendo is expected to fund third party games under different publishers but Sony isn't.
Your ignorance is astounding.
Without him, there would be no Metroid. He made it. Gunpei Youkoi headed the team for making the game but Sakamoto was the one who created Samus. Note that is not co-created. He is the reason Samus exists in the first place.
He was both director and designer of the original Metroid, Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion. Retro was just continuing what he had already established in 3D.
Fusion was his first time writing...
One of the things I like about Nintendo is that they don't buy favor.
Not by a longshot. Nintendo brings out new I.P.s every year.
Just in the last 2 years they had the Wonderful 101, Nintendo land, Crashmo/Pushmo, Dillon's Rolling Western, Harmonknight, Wii U play, Pandora's Tower, Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder, Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword etc.
That's just "some" of Nintendo's new I.P.s released over the last 2 years.
Sony has had another Killzone...
That's what happens when people start using twisted labels.
I've never used the term JRPG. RPGs span dozens of genre even in Japan. J is not a genre. Its just a term used to divide, and often disparage, RPGs that come from Japanese culture from those that aren't.
I always referred to them as "console rpgs", or there actual genre. Now westerners are trying to take the divisive label they created and tack it to their games to garner their...
Disney and EA as they own all of the property
Someone who clearly didn't read the article or watch the video, but came simply to bash Nintendo.
Because an admitted GTA clone is a fresh and original game...
They would have been far better than what they will be now. Same with Rayman Legends.
If it had released in February last year like it was supposed to, it would have easily gotten over 500k in sales with absolutely no competition at that point and the outlook for the Wii U still being pretty good.
You should know neither of those things will be true by now. From the beginning they had the Wii U version being worked on by something miscellaneous C rank team in Europe while all other versions were being work on by their A teams. They never cared about the Wii U version to begin with.
They should stop trying to save face and cancel is properly. Most people who want the game will have already gotten it on something else by then leading to them falting the Wii U for the in...
Mario Kart Wii is one of the highest selling games in history.
Most games on the planet Earth haven't and will not do half as well as Mario Kart Wii.
Heck, I doubt all of the PS4's software sells combined right now are half of what Mario Kart Wii sold.
Nintendo releases multiple news I.P. every year and always have. They've never been as successful as Nintendo's old franchises. How would making more of something that been proven repeatedly to underperform be a good idea? Also, why would they abandon the most profitable games franchises on Earth. How exactly would that help Nintendo in any way?
Please stop riding bandwagons of ignorance.
I agree. I've actually been in Gamestop and saw someone suggest getting a Wii U but the other person was like, not that just a handheld for the Wii.
That backfired completely. Keeping the name Wii and making the design so similar to the Wii was probably one of the top 2 biggest mistakes with the console.
The other was not have enough games ready. Neither of these things they seem to be truly trying to fix.
This is false all the way around.
Nintendo never abandoned motion controls. Motion controls are still there and still in use. The best uses of the gamepad to date have been the culmination of the motion controls and the screen(see Ninendo Land and ZombiU).
Secondly, its not nor has it ever been a tablet, nor was it made with the tablet boom in mind. The the Wii U gamepad decided on for the next controller early 2007 right after the Wii was released. The protoyp...
Nah, not in slightest. That is where they've been seen Metroid 1.

The Wii U has actually been doing rather decently in Japan especially when compared to the PS4 AND the PS3 in the same time frame.
That is false. The CPU is actually stronger as well.
The problems devs had were do to it completely different architecture and its inability to run ported code from the PS3 and 360 as a result(devs only ran into problems with the CPU when porting games).
If you actually looked at complaints about the CPU they were all during or before launch and mostly attributed to lack of support from Nintendo in showing them how to use the CPU, not the lack of the CPU'...
You do know that two of the three major game console makers are Japanese right? And that the highest selling games in history are Japanese right?
