The Wii U is going nowhere. It could possibly be a handeheld Wii U, but its more than likely either a new Gamepad or a new handheld.

I have to agree with this with all of my heart. I dare not say more for fear of getting moderated for speaking against Sony yet again.
This article is about peoples views of the companies as a whole in Japan. It's not simply about gaming, but because Sony is ahead, that is all that really matters on here. The headline says nothing about the first place position or any of the ones between Sony and Nintendo, because no one really cares about what Companies Japan is proud of...

Nintendo is now worth more than Sony moreso because of how much Sony has lost than how much Nintendo has gained. Despite Nintendo posting some losses, they are still losing no where near as much as Sony.

Nintendo didn't agree with the deal for the same reason they didn't agree with the Origin deal EA tried to make. Sony/EA wanted control and dominance, but Nintendo wasn't going to give it to them. Nintendo did help with a disc based system. The Panasonic CD-i. It failed, and they stuck with the cartridge afterward.
This is about Companies, not consoles.
Sony is the biggest electronics company in Japan. I find it odd that they are not first.
Maybe they are going to the one that offers them the most.

Thing is, all the ones I've seen at the top have either been praising the PS4 or putting down on the Wii U.

The media is full of biased fanboys who have grown entitled from all of the press privelegaes and the belief that they have some kind of power in the gaming world. Nintendo is showing them that they don't have power...

That would be fine and dandy if Nintendo's goals were sales and not profit. But there goal is profit and they can't afford to take even heavier losses on the console buy lowering the price to $250.
