Not common but there are a few examples out there. The reason is the open vs closed platform. Easier to develop for closed with limitations than an open platform with hundreds of configurations.

Hardcore GR fan here. Excited about GR taking the franchise to a different more futuristic route with cloaking, etc. Can't wait.
Contrary to how everyone feels, I'm excited about Rare stepping up and grabbing this bull(Natal) by the horns, so to speak. Its necessary, anything that isn't taken seriously by the devs doesn't get taken seriously by the consumer.
I wouldn't mind another killer hitman game though.

My review? In a nutshell... "Gow 3, although great looking, plays exactly like Gow 1 & 2, uses the same formula to tell the story and does absolutely nothing different."
Doesn't make it a bad game. In fact most that have enjoyed the first two Gows would want nothing less than "more of the same". Wish the other Gow franchise would have done the same, in my opinion.

Yeah, played Fear 1 (PC) to death. Loved the drop-kick in multiplayer, Fear was simply great in multi.
Thought I was in the minority here in liking the Fear franchise (mostly the first one), guess not. Hopefully F3AR lives up to the hype it'll eventually get.
