Enjoy your pretty shooter, you ps3 owners deserve it. This title doesn't particularly interest me although I will rent it and beat it but will move on, the multiplayer doesn't grab me. I'm also tired of fps's in general, I've played them all. Happy gaming everyone.
Easy dirtrider... is it that serious? the 360 has proved time and again that it has great games that look, sound & play great. Don't sweat the article, just give your opinion. After the holidays, xbox 360 will be closing the 9 million gap between it and the Wii, and making the 8 million gap with the PS3 even bigger.
Wii... 34 million sales
Xbox360... 25 million sales
PS3... 17 million sales
Hmmm...the xbox360 is 9 million sales away and the PS3 8 million sales. Those are pretty big gaps.
LOL. Yeah, and can only be played from a 360 hard drive!
That's interesting... being that Gears 2 is 5v5 and 2v2v2v2v2 not 2v8 or 4v8. Are u sure u played Gears 2 or did you get the bad info from a bad source?
Agreed, but if they do please consider making the game cross-platform. The more players the better.
Interesting comment...bubbles
@battleaxe
"Seeing as how Mark Rein wants to do more on the PS3, I think it would be a great opportunity for Epic to bring Gears over to the PS3's 17 million install base"
17 million ps3's sold does not equal install base. Try half, if not less. If any console has that install base it's the 360, for there is no reason to get the 360 but for a gaming console.
on topic/ It would be nice for ps3 to get Gears but I'd doubt Microsoft would ...
Anyone getting away with a copied level? That would be news.
Sad, no matter how u look at it.
I think the PC version looks good, man... Looks like I will be getting it for the PC too! I got 100% for this game on 360 btw.
Well, maybe not original but better nonetheless. Also, in Gears you can't run & shoot. In cover you switch to 1st person when aiming with any weapon, and when just standing/walking. You also don't stick in Killswitch and there are hardly no animations when taking cover, no swat-style cover switching, and no jumping over cover like Gears. It's like the Rotary Engine, Germany invented it but the Japanese(Mazda) perfected it. Just saying...
Yeah, like the horrible controls for the MGS series that were much much better. MGS4 improved them but still horrible(L1 to aim, R1 to shoot wtf? and still felt awkward). Kojima deliberately made MGS4 bosses easy, well with those awkward controls he had no choice... And MGO? A disaster!...not fun at all with those controls(oh I know, I have it). I can go on and on... example, too many weapons on hand, walking over objects majically picking them up, the follow-up borefest of a cutscene after t...
2 different games. Military-esque 1st person shooter with cover a-la-gears vs. a 3rd person action shooter, do you see the difference? Plus, Gears was made first and Vegas was made with the Unreal Engine 3 hence the Gears-inspired cover system. In Vegas when you went in to cover it switched to 3rd person and you had to "hold" the left trigger to stay in cover, you also couldn't run in Vegas(only Vegas 2). Vegas was more tactical, albeit at a slower pace, yet stop & pop like Gear...
Oh, we always knew about the kill.switch cover system but they will never be known for an innovative cover system that worked and was well executed. Gears on the other hand will be known for their cover system as many have copied till now, from GTAIV to RE5. Facts are facts, deal with it and accept it...unless you hate everything Gears/Microsoft then it's a personal issue and you will never stop throwing Killswitch in the face of Gears fans.
On topic/ PR talk, even then there ...
@Jenzo
It's amazing how you can make a point, provoke and drive the fanboys to jealousy with barely two lines... bubbles
Wow, you Sony fanboys seem to be enjoying being the first to post on a 360 thread, in the gamer zone. Good job. /sarcasm
Square Enix knows that 360 support is needed to make money, period.
"Only an idiot thinks upscaled dvd is close.
This video is clear proof."
The video is not "clear proof". I personally can see the difference on MY tvs, with both a bluray and an upscaling dvd player but surely not in this video. And for the record, movies on my non-upscaling dvd player looks just as good. Bluray movies have a clear picture and better sound but it is not a "major leap" over DVD. Sorry, if you expected something else...
34 million is not all that big of a lead actually. For all we know it could stop selling tomorrow. The Wii still has one major problem...3rd party titles! If people get tired of playing the same old mario with just a different spin, guess what? They will disown it like the Cube, and no more sales. Nintendo has been with us for a long time, and here to stay but that doesn't mean we have to keep buying it generation after generation.
Nice.
