and within that five minutes 2 PS3s were purchased with MGS4. Not saying that this refutes this story, but I gotta think the U.S. and Japan will tell a different tale.
I'm happy and I'm sure every PS3 owner is. My system's online is free, MGS4 is done in the system's second year (imagine what games will be a year from now), and PSN is free and getting better all the time. I'm happy. If you feel Sony didn't deliver then sell your PS3 and get a 360. I guarantee you that you'll come crawling back.

and there is potential for that series. Just, as someone said before, focus on making a game and not a movie. Cut scenes are ancillary to the game itself imo. MGS4 is a prime example. The cutscenes compliment the gameplay. When the cutscenes are the star and the gameplay takes a backseat then something is wrong, i.e. Heavenly Sword.
I think this series is just ripe for an RPG like overhaul. In fact, I think the first one should have been an RPG. Would have probably done better...
This is Sony. This is not some company with only one major IP to move hardware or the type of company that has only aesthetic to their games and only releases a major IP 3-4x a year. This is Sony. The company that has run console gaming since it first came on the scene. Rest assured, there'll be plenty of news at E3 this year.

Yeah, I don't care. When I look at Uncharted, Resistance 2, Metal Gear, Killzone 2, LBP, and all the other jaw dropping games to come these sorts of articles mean less and less. You can't figure out the PS3? Can't get around the 256mb for the GPU? Fine. Step off. Do a "valve" type move. As long as I have the Sony in-house games, Insomniac, Konami, and Square I'm good.
Then again the 360 is in its 3rd year. Sorta early but with no standard hdd and a antiquated format-DVD9-I don't blame them. My concerns is this: what's the in house exclusive for this system? Halo? Bungie left. Gears 3? Perhaps. What MS needs to do is try and purchase Epic. Secure Gears as an in house exclusive forever and ensure Sony never gets the chance to have Gears on its system.
Also go back to standard HDD. You started that MS! You built up a pretty good base of loyal cus...

True but all I said was it would move units and, regardless of who's buying the sku, it is moving hardware.

at all those on the gs forums and here that said it won't move units. That MGS never moves hardware. Just like those people said MGS won't move units this time and were wrong so will they be wrong in their statements that Killzone 2 will be average because Killzone 1 was average.

we just recently lost the possiblity of playing 8 days or the The Getaway anytime soon yet we have so many great exclusive IPs coming that no one is even worried.
Oh and my money for the mystery game is on it being Team Ico's game.

if that comment was for me then allow me to say that I didn't say it was annoying, I said they're lame. I disregard half of the "news" on here but give me a break with all the tech articles about the PS3. I have eyes and my eyes have seen MGS4 and others. Seeing is believing. You can write about how the system is this and that but so long as Sony delivers the goods what is written means very little.
