In some cases, I'd agree with you Ons, but I gotta go with First (can't believe it) on this one. Look at the success of Halo and Halo 2, do you really think advertising was that big of a part of Halo 3's sales? It's an established franchise now. Like Tekken, that series sells like hotcakes with minimal ads. Established franchises don't really need the ads...well, except maybe to let the general public know when it's being released.

I fall amongst the ignorant then, according to you. How is that calculated then?

With the exception of Killzone, how can you 'kill' a game that sells MILLIONS with every release...

So long as EA has the exclusive rights to the NFL license, every other game will just fall short. I just don't see another company challenging them until they get that license.

@ Sidar
Actually, he's not really making a COUNTER argument as you put it. He has to be replying to some sort of an argument to begin with to do that. He isn't. He's just being a fanboy. An empty statement about the PS4 being released then, given there's really no relevant info on what it will be like or Wii HD, doesn't exactly qualify as an argument.

The fact that the PS2/Xbox had the best hardware of last gen doesn't take any credibility from his po...

How will I miss out on anything? I'll rent them and complete them. What am I really missing? Owning the disc? Ten hour games without online and little replay are a waste of a buy, sorry. Besides, I get unlimited rentals from Blockbuster anyway.

It doesn't really matter to me. It's a game I'd only rent because of its quick time for completion. Photorealistic graphics wouldn't make this a must buy for me. It's a ten hour game and I refuse to pay that much for a game I'll finish that quickly.

This wouldn't really surprise me. Given the 360's recent success in Japan, it would make sense for SE to give them a bigger shot. After all, it's not like either PS3 or 360 has a very large install base there anyway, so releasing it on both would help maximize profits.

Pfft, everyone knows pink is the best color ever!

Ok, how was my comment off-topic? Whatever.

Anyway, yeah, I know what you're saying. That description has been around for RPGs forever. I've just always found it a little off.

Edit: I lost a bubble for telling someone to go to the open zone? Wow, the n4g mods are really doing their job now.

Open Zone -------->

I do disagree with the loose definition that RPGs are just about 'playing a role'. Tell me a game you're not playing a role in. By that definition, every game is an RPG. Halo you play the role of Master Chief, in Madden you play whatever role you choose with the team, etc...

Another flamebait thread. Nice. Personally, I don't care. Good riddance. Really, why would 360 fans even want him back on their live service? Didn't he already ditch you once? It's obvious this guy is probably just a bandwagoner, anyway.

Did they make this one multi-plat?

My complaints...
If you don't like the violence, there are plenty of games without it. Unfortunately, if you look, you will find it.

The modern era has more sequals because there have been a lot more games worthy to make sequels of. Over the years devs have made so many new IPs compared to the old days so it's not really a fair comparison. A game that sells millions would have had a sequel in any era...

I could have sworn there were graphical improvemen...

You know it's easy to simplify a game to the point it sounds stupid, right? We all know you're a fanboy in every sense of the word, but your comment offers nothing, really. If they're hyped about the game, let them be hyped. I don't care for it because I have no real creative/artistic side...but maybe that's why I'm an engineer, huh? Still, I see no problem with people being excited about a game because it appeals to them.

I highly doubt the PS3 version will make the 360 version look like Duck Hunt...The graphics will be very comparable.

All of these articles lately that just list the 360's technical specs are kind of lame. I really hope this wasn't inspired by MS as part of their overpriced ad campaign.

6461d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

This seems like it should have been posted when the 360 first came out. It reads like and ad... Not saying I agree or disagree with it. It just seems to me that this information is old and common knowledge for the most part.

I only said gambled because critical acclaim, no matter how much, doesn't necessarily equate to massive sales. It's a gamble, at least in my opinion, when you're spending that much money to advertise the game.

6464d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Above it was argued about marketing business models and strategic differences between Sony and MS. Well, I think much of that is irrelevant when it comes to certain titles. MS may have gambled on GoW at first as they had no idea how well it would sell. In this case, we're talking sequals to already established IPs which deserve the proper attention. Sony should at least show love to IPs that have earned it.
