I miss the old Square. I don't know what's missing exactly, but I could definitely feel it playing FFXII. A certain level of immersion was never attained in that game.

I think the purpose by the analogy was missed here. It was merely relating to how good the visuals would look and how that could lead to boosted anticipation, etc.
Actually, Ons, you're changing your argument. Read what First wrote, he never mentioned quality. I know he'd say it is, but he doesn't even say it's a well made game. He just says it's fun and it's the most played on Live. Other than that, he's only discussed sales figures. You brought quality into play. Which is a completely different argument as, to some extent, quality is all relative to the individual (I thought Ass. Creed was very well made for what I expected of it).
I have never seen a thread with more multi-paragraph responses than this one.
