Microsoft isn't a charity. It's a business. These deals aren't surprising.
Sony has deals that block the release of games on Microsoft services.

Like it or not, it's business.

Satya Nadella may not like exclusives, but all consoles need exclusives. A console without exclusives is a dead console.
Most people wouldn't purchase a PS5 or Switch if not for exclusives.
Like I said, Satya Nadella may not like exclusives, but Microsoft need exclusives.

@Nacho_Z
If you include "for all we know", you can just make up numbers?
By curiosity, for all that you know how much does Sony and Nintendo need to turn a profit in gaming?

@mkis007
Never said it was profit. So how much was the Xbox profit?
When Sony or Nintendo show their revenue, do they announce their gaming profit?

@Nacho_Z
"16.5 billion revenue to turn a profit."
Did you just make that up? Where did you get that number?

Can see that you have a great understanding how a big business works. /s

Their target was $17 billion. They made $16.22 billion... some people will think that was bad.

$16.22 billion without any AAA first party exclusive games, that's quite impressive for the Xbox business... but bad for Xbox gamers that didn't have AAA first party exclusive games.

@shinoff2183
Do you realize how many movies and TV series are on Netflix, that are not made by Netflix?

@Nitrowolf2
Imagine Ryan Reynolds, Chris Hemsworth and their AAA movies. Netflix finds it justifiable to pay them several millions because they bring new subscriptions to Netflix.
Now imagine AAA games... Don't you think AAA exclusive games will bring new subscriptions to a service? If you don't want the service, there is always the opt...

I'm sure actors like Ryan Reynolds, Chris Hemsworth, and many others, are crying their a*se off from the millions they make by releasing their movies directly to subscription services like Netflix or Amazon.

I don't think Microsoft forces 3rd party games to be on Gamepass. It's optional.

Find it absurd PS5 gamers that just had a big 3rd party release a few days ago, still complaining about the exclusivity of Starfield.
Quite entitled, aren't they.

Even Insomniac has Sunset Overdrive that we will likely never see future sequels on other platforms.

@lodossrage

Real simple:
When Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo purchase a 3rd party studio, they are automatically taking away all future games that studio will create from other platforms, unless they specifically create a multiplatform game. If you don't get it, then I can't explain simpler then that.

Same can be said about Sony's gaming studios that were purchased.
Do you expect Microsoft to launch all their games on Playstation?
Should Xbox gamers expect Sony to launch all their games on Xbox?

Edit: Seriously! Think it through.
When Sony purchases 3rd party studios, they automatically TAKE AWAY games from other platforms. Same happens with Nintendo or Microsoft.

Which game Microsoft actually claimed "we would have ...

In any business, all companies want to bring down their competitors.

Why are people surprised? Sony wants the same thing.

Guess Microsoft wasn't going to remove Call of Duty from Playstation platforms?

1086d ago 17 agree71 disagreeView comment

I'm sure Sony think exactly the same way... otherwise they wouldn't be moneyhatting 3rd party exclusive after 3rd party exclusive.

In any business, companies want to bring down their competitors.

My guess is:
Microsoft will buy Sega.
Sony will buy Square (if they haven't already).
