I am assuming he is referring to the free DLC mentioned. "Anyone who purchased Dead Island from the online retailer ShopTo should have a redemption code for The Bloodbath Arena pack included with their copy of the game for free."
I look at it this way. If we can kill babies in movies (See: It's Alive, Devil Times 5, Wicked Little Things... etc.) then we should be able to do it in the video games.
Or at least SEE kids being killed at a minimum. I have made it a point to now make an Indie game that will pass the XBL censors and be playable and it will either have children Zombies or some form of child death in it.
Good point waltercross.
Always remember that though you have reasons for not liking certain types of games, a quick observation on the affirmative side before posting your negative side will make your audience less defensive. Especially when you are arguing points against a favored game type.
EDIT: didn't realize I was at 5 posts on the subject already. I will check out your articles if I get a chance Mad_Mack. But as for any of my writing you won't f...
Just one example of pricing issue I will throw out. Indie game "The Impossible Game" costing $1 on XBL is now going to PSN but they are selling it for $2.99, why are they charging PS3 users more for basically the same game?
I went online looking for any titles for $1 on PSN. Do they have any? Anyone?? Just curious.
The overlooked aspect of XBL is that your friends name on your friends list is the same across all games you play. Is that the same for...
Look at Japan though. They have a large portion of their gaming community being female. Of course the females like the more whimsical fare like Jak and Daxter and such. Could be because a large portion of the Japanese games have a childish character to them?
No Manning for the Colts? Will they give an update to gimp him in the game? Hate to have to play with Kerry Collins as my quarterback when playing online!
I am sorry... the list should have at least had either Jack or Samara from Mass Effect 2. http://masseffect.wikia.com... http://masseffect.wikia.com...
Both girls would end up killing you after or during sex, either for the fun of it or for some strict honor code.
Or better yet Morinth who was Samara's mate killing d...
Halo Wars was a great game and was done very well on the PC. And as for RTS gaming... I've been playing RTS games since Utopia on the Intellivision and Herzog Zwei on the Genesis. I never cared for Command and Conquer (go ahead and scream at me now) but I loved the Close Combat series'.
Well if you keep sleeping 24hrs in game then it won't take but a few years to get to 5 billion in game hours. ha
One of the best reasons to having owned a PS2 was being able to play these games. People constantly search for a backwards compatible PS3 online just so they can still play these games on it.
A must have collection for anyone that owns a PS3. Might even be enough reason to go out and get another used PS3 slim.
And yet we didn't get that from your article Mack. We couldn't get by your delivery and rambling about other things before getting to your point. Hopefully your next venture into the journalistic realm will allow us to get to the real root of your issue?
Let me know, I would truly be interested to see if you grow into it?
Let me give you a few pointers to assist you on your growth before you die an awful crib death.
Stay to the point. Don't use references outside of the scope of your title. If you are talking about mashed potatoes then don't talk about how you don't like the flavor of blue cheese compared to cheddar.
Be yourself, don't try and sensationalize a point by adding superlative and exaggerated banter.
Leave the graphs at home. I kn...
@frelyler "Why are we talking about sales again?"
Because if something doesn't sell well in your specific region then it might not get support and you might not have the games around to play any more.
Similar to how Xbox 360 in Japan is looking at possibly not getting as much support in it's product there. Japanese developers aren't looking at making games for Xbox 360 that reflect a more traditional Japanese flavor. Japanese developers...
@Mastor
I don't think he left off LBP2. He mentions it directly and calls it a casual game and not worthy of being considered due to what he says is sonyfanboys same implication that casual games don't matter.
As a US consumer do I care that the Japanese are buying more PS3 games versus Xbox 360 games? No.
As a US consumer do I care that the Americans are buying more Xbox 360 games versus PS3 games? Yes.
And why you might ask? Because it matters what my friends are playing, that my likes are being addressed, what kind of attention I am getting from the gaming company. I get my FPS fix and I get my RPG fix. And I get to play them all with my extended friends list. I...
"It’s the perfect replay fodder for the Film Director mode,..." this answers my first concern. Will Film director mode be a part of it? Yes, YEAH!
My favorite part about the original Driver was being able to record my crazy drive through San Francisco with a movie like view of it all. And having my friends watch the crazy jumps and near misses of some of the chase scenes.
I recall editing one of my play throughs forever just to get that perfect cine...
I guess I gave the blame to Butler for posting the article. Never got to the bottom to see anything saying anyone else was the Author. Thanks for setting me straight on who should be whipped for the article.
Same way HippityHop made his internet fame. What ever happened to him? Did he just fade away?
He starts complaining about stupid stuff and then says, "What I am not looking for is ‘challenge’ brought about through bullshit instant kill attacks (I’m looking at you, Dead Space)" I had to read the title of the article again. Was Dead Space A Sandbox game???
He totally lost my interest when he started using graphs to explain why game elements are or aren't relevant. And then mentions that the sweet spot on the graph is a picture of my mum.
...
"...but is that market ready for the challenge?" Basically that is a hype line to bait people.
i.e. our game is so good that you can't handle it.
