You know I really don't mind Metro that much. I can understand how it can annoy some players and can lead to campers in the outside portion, but the first area really has it's good aspects.

I for one was turned off instantly after playing the beta. With the number of glitches in it that shouldn't be in a beta. And the types of issues that are possibly map specific, and am wondering what issues are going to be found on the other maps that aren't being beta tested?

I have been playing about 12hrs now and haven't noticed the lights being an issue outside. I have yet to be blinded by a light outside. So very possible that he has had the same experience of not being blinded by any lights outside? Even the laser outside seems a lot weaker to me. I can see them when a sniper has them aimed at me but haven't been as effected by them as when it is dark.

I am not so sure about that. It took me having a friend tell me that I could press up on the direction pad to turn of the light and/or laser. So likely that the author was complaining at the same thing that many of us did where we just didn't know that we couldn't turn the damn thing off. ha
They have the toggle option for the zoom so not sure why it would be that difficult to have a tactical mapping option for this scenario if needed, but I don't see it as needed...

You do realize we are talking about the beta play of the game right?
But yea... you don't have the single shot kills that you would expect from most all the weapons. (of course head shots will do you in) But they have to balance the play to make changing the weapons actually mean something.
But bullet sponge? No... people are complaining that they are dieing to quickly. I think the balance is just right. Only up to about level 1...
Wasn't even down for that long. Reports are that people were back up in less then an hour. It was already past midnight my time so I put up my BF3 beta for the night and just took a well deserved rest from gaming.

Why again do we need to harp on people needing to be emotional about a near death moment? It happens to so many people all the time, and you see the stupid plots on TV or the films about people getting all emotional and then changing or reflecting on their lives.
Sorry... in real life it rarely brings a come to Jesus moment to those that aren't religious. For the vast majority of people they never speak or talk of the subject and quickly move on with their life.

I was in the middle of the BF3 Beta and just thought it was another beta crash. So I just turned it off and got some sleep after hours straight of fragging.

Yeh, I am enjoying my play of the beta even though it has huge issues with bugs right now. But hey, it's a free beta (not a demo) and I will just see how the retail game pans out.
Rage looks like it is promising, like Borderlands on steroids.

Really... that is your biggest gripe? I am assuming that you are enjoying your PS2 and/or Xbox right now seeing that you don't need top notch graphics to have fun and haven't upgraded to the PS3 or Xbox 360?

You know for me there is a point to the number of players where a game just has too many people. Right now I am playing the demo of Battlefield 3 on my console and the number of people is just right.
Big battles are fun... but get as many as 20 or more people on my team and I just start loosing the fun of the game and choke points in the game are even harder to coordinate through.

By the way what is he meaning when he says "Joypad lock ups", what exactly is a joypad? Really? Does he mean controller? Is that a UK thing? And tell me why any issue with Live would lock your joyfull pad up? And he mentioned the world over is reporting the issue. So have we gotten the skinny from all the other web sites ...

When my health is down I thought I noticed some blood faint on the edges of the screen? But they could do a bit better with that. Not the blur as it takes to long for your health to go back up. But maybe some more blood around your screen and then getting less as you regain health?
I only recently noticed the hit while running thing. I was having issues with my SV98 not being able to take people down at the distance it should. But had a nice run at plugging people in the open...
