"Terrorist Marketing Battlefield 3"... the poorly written title insinuates that terrorist are marketing BF3. Thus support of the game by terrorist, and supporting terrorism.
The article just goes on about not liking the cliches and wants to see something new. Stating that DICE is trying to sensationalize terrorism within their game. And that their use of certain cliches within the game is some how a slap at the fight against terrorism because they are used in the ga...
I understand you only have 3 bubbles and are trying to consolidate your verbiage but I didn't call you a COD fanboy... that was much lower in the list of people that think you have no clue what journalism or gaming really is... try putting the @gamertag in front of your rant to clarify if it is out of sequence. @Biggest
Obviously I don't know them all but simple logic that BF3 is a more hard core game and thus would fall into the category of hard core gamers that have HDD systems.
But I do know MANY on the Xbox 360 and all have HDD. Still have not ran into a single player that hasn't got an HDD. Though I am sure they exist they aren't the core gamer nor are there many.
Majority of people who bought a model without a hard drive have alr...
I have seen TSQUARED play and he is far from being a noob/twitch player as you say... he is a pro and won a lot of money in MLG tournaments. (and sorry... Counter Strike is about as relevant these days as Tetris)
They mentioned that they were playing on an AMD computer in the video but were using controllers which seems a bit strange for FPS versus using the mouse and keyboard on a PC.
The premise behind the show looks interesting. I like that the pro players...
@TreMillz
Some PC owners know full well that some games (especially platform games) are much better when using a traditional game pad versus a keyboard mouse configuration.
As for the pads being for consoles. Well no... the PC pad has been around a long time and I know from experience with the Xbox 360 pad (we call it a controller) it is a version made specifically to link up with the PC and works well with many games.
As for his choice to pl...
@Messatsu290
The electronic systems used to play video games are known as platforms; examples of these are personal computers and video game consoles.
I am assuming he was referring to the platforms in discussion at the time which were Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Who was the ignorant one in the discussion again?
@Paulh82
Actually you are incorrect. When the media (being you in this case) points out the sensational views by advertising "Terrorist Marketing Battlefield 3: The Launch Trailer" in full sight that the game is NOT marketed by terrorists, as you insinuated with your poorly written headline. But only is using current international situations that are actually relevant in today's factual headlines.
Cliche is what you do with this article. You tak...
Yes... I hear that Beta has thousands of hours of gameplay too. ha
Correct that Kinect 2 will not be specifically marketed exclusively with the next generation Xbox, but it will still see console backing along with PC commercial application from the outset.
You are close but you are thinking in the wrong direction. The Xbox PU will be a console tablet but hinted that it will also have Win 8 PC capabilities.
Currently the next generation Xbox is code named "Loop" but expect the name to change with an image reference of the infinity symbol for the next generation Xbox. http://listsoplenty.com/blo... It will release in 2013.
The Win 8 PU is a tablet from Microsoft coming in 2013. Xbox PU is the tablet version of the console coming out in 2014. (current information d...
@dantesparda
Correct that the mandatory install for the PS3 has the pack within it. The optional install for the Xbox 360 is reported to be similar size. As for the HDD... as long as you have at least the 4GB you can still avail the optional install. I don't know of a single Battlefield fan who doesn't have a HDD. So you should be ok.
Or they could do what Ubisoft did with King Kong and make the Halo 4 for Xbox 360 and Xbox 720 but with improved graphics on the 720. Worked wonders for King Kong game when Xbox 360 came out.
Halo will not loose customers based on a new generation system update.
I am not sure that I have seen game prices really go down along with system price. As long as the games are new then they will likely still get the retail price asked as usual.
Of course once a new system comes into play, most developers will likely jump to the new platform. But smaller developers will likely still make games for the older system to get a quick buck. But the games will likely fall into the same area as the low budget $39 games you see coming on the market to...
@boommuffin
I think he was both answering your question and also in relation to what LightofDarkness stated alluding to the next cycle of systems coming soon. And a need to focus a lot of money into an older system when the easier fix would be for consumers to want to just move to the next generation.
Sony will still support their system for the 10year life cycle but that doesn't mean they will dedicate as much resource to it once the next generation com...
People hack for the sake of basically solving a problem... especially when it is addressed that it is not possible to do. That just makes people want to do it more.
Then once that is done then you get the business ventures who think they can squeeze some profits out of it and sale the product for next to nothing.
There will always be a market for pirated products the question is how do you limit the detriment to your own marketing plan and profits?
...
On the same point your game isn't going to get pirated if it doesn't sale.
The most pirated games are those that are in high demand.
Name me a few of these developers that stopped developing for PSP due to piracy? I haven't heard a single developer step up and make such a claim.
Piracy can really hurt a market, but spreading false reports on piracy only weakens your argument. Making people think that all of the piracy issues are m...
Good point. I travel a lot and see how Sony and MS fair against each other in many countries. The countries that have a larger piracy market are known to side with the system that is cracked.
So though a company might loose a lot of revenue on software they gain an advertising and system surge with the many people finding the modding of the system to be more cost effective.
Note that it doesn't seem to diminish the number of people that will still buy a...
Never too early to start planning on what your next generation is going to offer.
Better to start now and try to figure out how to work it into the architecture of the game system later, then to start later and be dealing with issues that could have been thought out beforehand.
