"'Call of Duty: Ghosts runs natively at 1080p on the PlayStation 4,' an Activision spokesperson told Eurogamer this evening.

"'There was a configuration issue in the retail version on single-player mode only. This has been addressed with a day one software update. People will be able to download the day one update when PlayStation 4 launches in their territory and play at native 1080p.'"

From these quotes, I take it that it is u...

How is it xHeavYx reply to a comment about Forza and Ryse gets labeled as trolling? Someone else promoted Forza and Ryse to make a point that XB1 has better exclusives than PS4, and xHeavYx countered by bringing up some negative aspects of those games. So one guy is allowed to big up those titles to make his argument, but the other isn't allowed to counter by mentioning those titles' negatives? And they call this N4Sony.

@Death

1st see insomnium's reply to you.

Now, could you be any more off the mark, or did the point just fly completely over your head? Were we talking about sales, or Triple A games? Would you rather have quality games, or games that sell well? I guess in this case, gameplay all of a sudden doesn't matter, huh? We save those gameplay arguments for when people bash the lower resolution on XB1 multiplayer titles. If you want to talk sales, the best ind...

The reviewer spends way too much time comparing Knack to his nostalgic memories of PS1/PS2 platformers past.

Uh, no zero. You don't got it. Sony does this little thing of actually releasing their current gen games on their current gen platforms, their last gen games on their last gen platforms, and their next gen games on their next gen platforms. Just look at the support PS2 still had well into the PS3 cycle, the support PS3 still has, and the PS4 exclusives. You don't get any funny business, like Sony holding out on TLOU and releasing it as a PS4 exclusive.

I think you mean "why only two AAA titles at launch?" One got pushed back. What are you going to do? The one that got pushed back is doing more than the racer on XB1, and will be out a couple of months later. Screw long term though, right? Who thinks about that?

The one thing you can say about Sony's AAA's is that none of them give the impression of being last gen titles that were held up, slapped with a fresh coat of paint, and released as "next-gen&q...

"What we're most excited about - really the core direction of our company - is trying to make something that works on platforms that are moving quickly and that are continuously getting more powerful, and consoles are not those."

Well, prepare to have a niche device. You're trying to popularize VR gaming by marketing to those few who regularly update their systems to the most powerful specs? Then again, this could all just be talk because MS and Sony haven&#...

Unless you're in the habit of rewarding failure, I don't really see how you make such a big distinction out of MS trying to screw people over and MS succeeding at screwing people over.

Probably, but launch buyers tend to be more aware so that could be a problem for COD. Those are the customers most likely to know that there isn't much of a reason to buy a slightly improved game on consoles with a lower install base.

I wonder what putting the game out early has done to pre-order numbers. The already impressive pre-order figures won't represent the true launch interest in this game, since it's already on the shelves.

His comment isn't just a joke. There's actually some truth in that jest. MS has pushed this "power of the cloud" as something that will make your Xbox 3x more powerful and future proof. It's supposed to be the secret weapon to make up for the inferior specs. So basically, if you don't want an inferior experience you have to connect to the cloud. To connect to the cloud, you have to have an internet connection. Thus, the joke that "the 'powa of teh cloud'...

@True_Samurai

You say that as if anyone cares. I don't see how someone who stopped supporting a product because continuing to support it ran contrary to their principles can be defined as a fanboy. I don't get that, at all. So what is a fanboy, anyone who doesn't show absolute commitment to a product, no matter what?

I'll be happy to answer that question Mikey.

First, let me correct your claim that MS didn't shoot themselves in the foot. They did. This whole controversy is the result of them banning the guy in the first place. Now they are getting more negative press from this DRM rumor, which only came about because they banned him, than they likely would have received in the first place. To take it back even further, DRM and patches to play offline wouldn't even be an issue...

Then Sony says, "Oh yeah, cable companies? We're putting all of our films out exclusively in theaters and Netflix. No cable." I'm just saying there's a lot of behind the scenes stuff that goes on with these deals.

I don't really care about a billion dollar company's bottom line, and I can probably speak for most others here and say the same is true of them. Have you ever heard the phrase "vote with your dollar"? That's why people are interested in sales. You have a clear contrast between two companies' consoles, practices, and strategies. Consumers are voting on which they favor, and hoping to be on the winning side, as money talks, and that is what will sway the industry. <...
