Woah woah woah. Steam lets you play games offline. I've done it before.
You can't finish the game, but if you're going to release a review for it, make sure the review scores 8.0 or higher....
I like the 360 controller for everything except the D-Pad... whoever was in charge of the design for that should be fired.
If you push down farther you'll run instead of just walking ;)
The funniest part about this whole article and most of the comments listed here is that only fanboys really hate fanboys. For the most part, the rest of the world doesn't care and barely knows they exist.
I hope they feel brave enough to show us actual screenshots of gameplay next time.
The levels in the demo are tame. As you progress through each scenario the zombies get tougher and tougher until the final area such as the helipad or what not where it's an insane zombie massacre.
Yeah.. They mention Voodoo1 but that was more the chipset than the card itself. If they were to choose a #1 most influential card for 3d gaming I'd have to say the Monster 3D.
I remember the day my friend picked one up and played the 3dfx Quake mod for it. I bought one within 15 minutes of seeing it.
He must be a loser if you're owning him in forums. ;)
This game is all about co-op play. Not everyone has 8 hours a day to play games so 1.5 hours is perfect. The 'AI Director' system pretty much guarantees that you'll have a unique experience every time so you can't memorize spawn points etc.
I think people have finished Portal in around 18 minutes and that game was awesome. Left 4 Dead is more expensive than Portal but it also has the ability to be played over and over. It's a blast.
10/10 for the PC. I have to agree. I tried the demo on both the PC and the 360 and the PC wins hands down.
The folks at Valve manage to pull off another work of art. :)
My Pet Pony: EXTREEEEEEEM!!!!
Loss of human life isn't even what I was going for. You could use the same argument by saying that it is acceptable for someone to take a bulldozer and C4 to an empty bank (closed for the night).
Just because the walls of the bank won't hold up, doesn't mean that I should have right to the contents because their "security wasn't strong enough".
I'm going to have to disagree with you. The people who work at Valve are are just as affected as the people who's money is in a bank. They've invested time and effort into creating a product. To say that it is excusable to steal that information is by proving that the security is faulty would be equal to saying it's ok to kill the armed guards at a bank because when you do you're proving that their security is faulty.
I can't wait until they review Gorf!
No One Lives Forever basically took the 60's spy thriller idea and had henchmen with cheesy outfits. It was pure genius.
Why wish for it on the PS3 or XBox 360 when you can play it free online? http://www.quakelive.com/
And in other news... Beyonce Sneezed...
ZOMG I Sneeze too!! Sneezing is so cool... this has to be posted on News for Sneezers...
I don't know about betas, but what ruins game sales are crap games. Unless a developer has proven themselves to be trustworthy, I usually try to demo or rent a game before buying it.
Lately I've had a lot of problem with developers not putting out demos for games. In my opinion the only reason a developer will not put out a demo is:
a) if a demo is not technically feasible (usually not the case).
b) if the game sucks and they know that if you get to try it be...
Stop bickering people... there are several consoles out there and they're all doing fine. They all have games that are fun to play. Lashing out at the other consoles does nothing but show your insecurities.
