@ Axios You're fighting a losing battle. Saying anything not 100% glowing about Sony is automatically met with "Oh, you must be an XB1 fanboy." Let's be honest here people, he makes a good point that it can feel a little silly to buy a $400 machine to play indie games that would run on the previous gen console just fine. And before you call be an XB1 fanboy the truth is I AM! But I'm also a fan of the PS4! Yes! That is possible!
@majiebeast That's a very simplistic answer. The launch strategy has a lot to do with it. I can almost guarantee you that conversations were had at Sony about the fact that supply would be very limited if they launch in all those countries but the reply was "that will make it appear demand is greater."

I pretty much agree with all those points. One other thing I would add is that I'm starting to feel like my 360's controller is more comfortable and more solid. Maybe it's just because I've used it for so long but the size on the 360 is almost perfect. And I really didn't mind the external battery at all. The One controller has a little give in it that I don't feel on the 360. I do like the texture of the sticks better though.
I'm American but I've always loved the Brits...minus that little revolution thing ;) In more modern times we've always fought together. And lately they've given us Top Gear and Downton Abbey, so that's good :)

I have a hunch that Germans aren't as big a fan of the COD series considering it started out being all about WW2 and they were the enemies. Considering Xbox is favored amongst COD fans (generally speaking) that could have something to do with it.
Also, PS is just bigger in Europe than it is in the US. But what do I care, I'm getting both. I predominantly play the Xbox though.
I voted agree because at first I thought you were joking when you said "not a single person I asked AT Germany...". Kinda like the knobs who post "I checked every store around me and blah, blah, blah."
I saw this on TV last night. I thought it was a really good commercial. Best I've seen Sony and Playstation come out with in years. People forget Sony used to be the top end of all electronics. You wanted the best, you got Sony. They lost their way for awhile but they need to remind people of their past and recommit to being the best. They're on the right track if this is their ultimate philosophy and not just one single commercial.

Umm, I'm guessing since it's only 1/3 the cost of a controller, that might be why some people choose to get the battery pack.
Could anyone that is not a fanboy give advice on why/if this is needed? I don't yet have the PS4 (just XB1) but plan on getting one. Is the battery life of the controller an issue? How long can it go between charges? Can I play 4 or 5 hours without any problem?

Sony was originally not going to charge for this service but M$ forced them to change their business model to survive! It's all M$ fault for screwing over the gamers! /s
Seriously, had this been announced this late by M$ you Sony fanboys would be all over it. I kind of expected there would be a charge for it so it's not a big deal to me but the hypocrisy here is overwhelming.
