Games are more social, widespread and mainstream, and there is a growing interest in community driven online stuff. Just look at the last few years, they prove his point. I know this community likes to bash games like Overwatch and PUBG etc etc, but the fact is people love this stuff. Besides, you have examples like Warframe, which this community likes I think.

Actually you can be both, it depends on what you mean by immersion and realism.
You can have immersion and realism at a low level (movement, camera, soundscape, gunplay, animations, visuals, bullet drop and physics etc), while not having it be the same at a high level.
Personally I prefer staying on the immersion and realism side like BF BC 2, but they are clearly moving away from that direction unfortunately. It'll still be really fun though.

Now how much money do you think EA makes with MTs and lootboxes ? It's a LOT, more than most people think.
In a way, Dreams by MM is far more exciting than any of those.
The demo they showed lately blew me away.
Forget about the graphics, think about the advances in simulation, AI and scope due to the better CPUs. The CPUs are the bottleneck this gen, not really the graphics.
I mean, for multiplatforms, maybe, but first party games are having a good time with the PS4 GPU power.

.Playstation is the console to own, everyone knows that. I'm a PC gamer (the beloved PC shall always rule), and the truth is that Sony is kicking it out of the park. If you are a gamer at all, you should seriuosly consider getting one.
I also really appreciate what Sony has done for gaming. They've given big projects enough time, money and creative freedom, and those studios are delivering excellence non-stop. I have a lot of respect for Sony because of that.

It's funny how PS fans keep acting like the media is trashing their poor games, despite the fact that this very same press is always scoring them 9 or 10 (and the odd score lower than that which is immediately...
It means it needs to have it's own flavour in order to stand out.
It's important to note that the game is still around a year from release, so this kind of thing will change closer to release.

Yes, but if it gets 80s or 70s, then those review sites must be automatically damned as clickbait, biased, bad sites. Tis the n4g way, and to be honest it's 10x more cringy than the PS4 hating, because it's 10x more prevalent.

Really shows you that reviews are subjective, and not everyone who gives your favourite PS exclusive an 8 or below is a bad reviewer, doesn't it ? Contrary to what everyone here thinks.
Either way, glad to see this score for this game, I was impressed by the demo footage.

To what extent ? because you can use that to invalidate any criticism, honestly. Every game is judged according to people's subjective preferences, and this is very complicated. Even if you think you know what the developer wanted to achieve with some particular thing (you'll probably be wrong about that too), is it somehow wrong to disagree with that decision as a review...
I haven't played the recent CODs, but from what I can see the movement and basic gunplay looks similar to the MW2 multiplayer even. That always put me off, because at some point I expect a complete overhaul, but it never seems to come. It looks a little different but not different enough, always the same thing with small changes. The running animation for example. I want the change like we saw from BF:BC2 to BF3
He's not wrong though, this is one hell of a PS4 circlejerk. I totally get why that is, looking at the current console situations, but sometimes it is downright nauseating.
