if they knew what they were doing they wouldn't be in the situation where It's being talked about.
I doubt they know how to run gaming studios, any more than they do their streaming service 4 TV.
I think it's just a question of them selling it before they destroy it, because it's not going to yield them results if they don't know what they're doing.
obviously they want to unload the studios because of their debt.
EA would.
obviously you've got an ax to grind with Microsoft (what a surprise)
the biggest problem they have is that most people go to buy or acquire studios, based on the IP.
so unless these guys have something undercover they're working on, or some individual projects that could really yield results, just picking up studios is acquiring their debt without any real assets to go with it.
nobody makes that deal that knows what they're doing.
the ATT/ DirecTV thing is bleeding so much money, it's not even funny.
they got in way over their head, and want to leave a telecommunications company to run basically a satellite and video streaming service.
they've done everything to purposely try to shove it down your throat, if you're an AT&t customer.
everyone that you talk to/read reviews from, it's a terrible service.
I would think they want to wait and see how a couple of...
I was always very surprised it didn't make it the backwards compatibility list, when most Rockstar games did.
they even did a remastered Xbox one version of LA noir, but not Max Payne 3?...
also a head scratcher.
well after years of reading nothing but hateful comments,(towards MS) concerning this game, it's nice to see some common sense being applied to it
it wasn't a good game.
it wasn't fun.
they couldn't make it work.
it was way over budget.
there were other concerns as well, they didn't cancel the title lightly,
especially at that point the way things were going for Xbox one.
do you really honestly think they would...
firstly: Xbox live started November 15th 2002, okay? fact.
secondly: PlayStation plus started June 29th 2010, okay? fact.
"force them to give up that revenue stream" when they already had it 8 years prior?
brother, as nicely as I can put it:
your tinfoil hats a little tight.
"it wasn't players that stopped Xbones DRM, it was Sony offering another solution."
NO, it was players, Period.
to give you a bit of a...
who knows where it's going to go... as somebody that's always been Xbox,
I am a bit concerned,
but they're going to do what they're going to do, and if it's too consumer unfriendly? I'll be building a PC and heading that way.
I do have to correct you on one thing: xbox's biggest money-maker is they're Xbox live, gold subscriptions aren't 20 to 30 million, it's upwards of a hundred million, this is one of the reasons they co...
I feel you on that, but also third-party Dev's have to know that this is something that's going to make them money.
even from the extended rental philosophy it's still a hell of a deal
my understanding is any Microsoft exclusive doesn't leave the service though, Halo games, sea of thieves etc, stay on the service, if it's a XBox/ms exclusive
same here,
if it would have been marketed as a side offshoot game and not one of the main line Dead space games?
I think it would have resonated more. ultimately it was a fun co-op experience, and a really good-looking game, but it wasn't what I think of when I think of Dead space.
the mood, the tension, the pacing,
all of the things that really made Dead space stand out, in the first two games was completely gone from that title.
Activision (much like the mafia)
wants to keep them as a "storefront" for their operations.
with a gun to their head,
again, like the mafia.
"make this and nothing else"
studio control.
the idea of a studio even trying to Branch off and do something else,
is what happened between them and the original Infinity Ward.
they are THE fascist regime of game publishers
it's actually horrific, to think about.
you can look at the IP (if you Google it) that they actually are sitting on
it's a mountain of undeveloped gems, to say the least.
the idea that they want to acquire more, when the whole purpose of them doing so was to remove competition from the market to begin with (the Walmart approach, if you will) it's very terrifying.
"we want to dominate more of the market with our garbage and give you less...
Gabe came from Windows,
was one of its original architects and builders.
I don't know how many people are aware of that.
I just don't ever see it being a good thing to be an early adopter,
and I know quite a few people who feel that way.
there's going to be enough updates/ patches/ adjustments to the systems themselves, not to mention all the games that will be coming out.
I'm just not going to lay down 50% more money than I have to for things that aren't fully fleshed-out.
hunting is the only area where a Beretta shotgun would be a decent choice.
there's a reason they're not used in any other area as far as law enforcement or military.
it's not a question of defending it,
but you got a lot of counter arguments.
the most prominent being, they outright say that it's an early build, it's not the way the game is going to look in the end.
it was to showcase gameplay/ give you an essential idea of what that will be like and what the world will look like.
the people that have the most rabid problem with it, the folks like yourself, that really don't give a damn about the game an...
I wouldn't mind being able to play co-op, I'll be honest.
but yeah, mmo...
no, I wouldn't be for that either.
what's honest? is if this were concerning PS5 and not Xbox,
he wouldn't be on here at all,
going on and on about it...
so did Microsoft.
yeah yeah w/ all the Microsoft hating, only studios they closed are ones that ran out of ideas, and couldn't deliver when they closed studios, yet everyone wants to claim that they were overseeing them like some sort of dictators, they weren't.
those studios were free to develop and come up with their own ideas.
but a lot of them, other than the main line property that they would work with, didn't. they got rid of lionhead because all of their creative leads an...
